Thanks Alan! It's a hella lot better. I'm slowing removing some red and chrome LOL I would not do plasti dip for this (just too much surface area). I'd recommend paint though for the long run. It's gloss black for the vinyl.

Sorry to bump an old thread... but just a few questions for you Lee...

where did you get the roof overlay done? Did you install it yourself or you went somewhere to get it professionally done? I might attempt the same project soon...and how has the overlay been holding up with the weather?

also... are the snake bite dings on the roof back after you installed the overlay? Is it scratching the overlay up? just figured I'd ask...

Hey Alan, I never had any dings in the roof (still crossing fingers).
The overlay was done by my tint guy. I provided the vinyl as one piece, because they would have to do two pieces. He does vinyl wraps so this was not a first time job. The install of the overlay was done during the winter when it was iced over in the south, so first I would not reccommend doing it in cold weather. There are just two minor imperfections as a result but its not a deal breaker. So as for holding up, it is holding up just fine. The overlays I bought had very minute scratches from being on a roll I think but otherwise no scratches on the roof from the folding or anything.
