Shift lag on automatic

So I've had my 13 g37s coupe a few months and i noticed a second lag when i shift up i can actually count a second from when i shift with either the paddle shifter or the actual shifter in manual mode. the dealership said thats just how the car is but the mechanic i spoke to said to get on a forum and see what options there is for decreasing that shift time anyone know what modification i can do for that?

I have an 2011 37S conv and the shifts with the car in auto are crisp and quick. I haven't really had a chance to use the paddle shift in the car as it's just my daily driver stuck in traffic. It's been raining here so much, I'm not willing to play with it on wet roads.

Just ideas: Ensure any TSB regarding your AT has been completed, then try a valve body upgrade. Take a look at levelten.com in NJ.

Level10 valve body upgrade and a solid tune is the only cure
other than that, try a grounding kit. Might help...might not. If I want to max things out I just drive in DS.

Hold on ... you are saying you've been "selling infiniti vehicles for a couple of years" and you don't know how crappy the auto is?!!
Hrmm.. I smell a catfish.
Also, do a search. There are 100s of threads on this.

the auto in the g37 sucks. there isn't one auto that's better than another.

in drive, it does what it needs to do with some glitchy down shifts. It drives fine most of the time and does its job without exceeding expectations.

when you switch it into manual mode by using the shift **** or paddle shift (doesn't matter which it's the same) thats when you can really tell the auto transmission is laggy.

So, it's better to just either leave it in D, or DS mode and dont try manual shifting.

Wow?

I didn't know you were an expert? So, I guess I'm the luckiest G owner here, since my auto doesn't lag or think about which gear to use?

I'm off to buy a lottery ticket......

In my experience, my auto hunts for gears when driving aggressively in D. If I go to pass someone at about 40MPH I can feel the car downshift twice in order to find the right gear. In "DS" mode though, the car operates great. Just gets a little annoying if it happens to wind itself out on a maneuver.

Just so we are on the same page...
This is what you are talking about? $700?
https://www.levelten.com/INFINITI_VA...210-9000sn.htm

I'm new (my first payment just cleared) as well and am looking for tweaks for my '13 G37x.

Thanks.
