Are both 225/45's & 245/40's compatible on my wheels?

Are both 225/45's & 245/40's compatible on my wheels?

I have a 2008 g37s, recently got a flat on my front tire.
Been checking the tire sizes and on my car they are 245/40/19's all the way around.

When I check the interwebs I get a lot of places saying 225/45/19's for the front and 245/40's for the rear, but then a few others just say 245/40's.

Can I swap out my 245/40's in the front with new 225/45's? Without changing the wheels? Will I run into any issue doing this? Will the car handle better with 225/45's in the front? or 245/40's?

Thanks everyone.

You should have the OEM staggered wheels (8.5"/9" width) if that's the case then running 245/40s all around will cause no problems at all, just be sure to run your slightly wider 9" wheels in back. The sizes of the wheels will be stamped in the inner spoke area.

As for handling, it will be better over all with the wider footprint on all four corners 245/40. The 40 series tire will have a slightly stiffer sidewall than the 45 series for improved handling as well
