About to buy - how important is the Sport Package?
Hi Forum - Great to find this community as I've decided to buy a G37 AWD Coupe and I have a question. There are several '13 G37xS's available in my area with under 30K miles, and several '14 Q60 (non-sport) coupes available with around the same milage for around the same price.
So, the question is, all things being equal is it worth buying a year older car to get the Sport package, or should I just go with the newer (non-sport) model?
Thanks in advance!

From a new owner who just got a xs coupe, I highly recommend going for it! The sport package adds the paddle shifters, and in DS mode, the shifts come at a higher rev point and feel a little quicker. I drove a Journey 2wd coupe and the xs feels better in every respect.

i can't say how a "regular" coupe handles, but i am very impressed with the sport suspension on my xS ... and i was coming from an Evo X MR with the factory Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs.
VERY glad i did my homework and got the xS.

I have the 2013 XS Coupe...definately worth it in my opinion...the launch and handling are great..I added Hostics sway bars and subframe bracing to take it to the limit along with Pilot Super Sport tires 245 40 19...

If I were you I would definitely get the '13 G37xS Coupe. The sport package is worth every penny. Before I had my IPL I had a '12 G37xS Coupe and loved it! You get the paddle shifters, sport tuned suspension, sport seats with manual thigh extensions, big brake kit, 19" square OEM wheels, sport spoiler, and sport front fascia. You will still retain the new Silk Obi Aluminum trim which started on all '13 models and up as well as the IPL models. So in terms of YEAR difference you wouldn't be losing out on anything other than the Q60 badging of course and the 3.7 badge on the front fenders... which IMO looks tacky. Also, resale will be better with the sport package most likely!

I purchased a 09 non-sport coupe thinking the differences wouldn't be that significant...boy was I wrong.
-Sport sides and sport front bumper
-bigger brakes (Akebonos)
-paddle shifters
-better seats (hugs you more)
-better rims
-better suspension
-I think LSD comes with Sports model (correct me if I'm wrong)
