Posting this before I'm no longer "new"

Yes - it was a 1.7. I had it built some go-fast goodies and awesome suspension so it would smoke the 2.0s. Always wanted a 914-6, but for that sort of money, an older 911 would be more fun. I now autocross an older 240Z that keeps me entertained. I'm thinking this G might be fun to try this summer too.
My Spitfire was also British Racing Green. Tan interior, black top. Classic.

Wow, Everything I read said they were unsuccessful considering the price of them. IIRC, they sold for just a shade under the 911 price. That also being said, I'd imagine they are quite rare today. Out of all the cars from my family's past, I'd say I would've liked to have had the opportunity to get my Uncle's '69-70 Nova. Can't remember the exact year he had but the thing was just an absolute monster and I was in awe of the raw power of it. That thing idling was louder than my cousin's GTO revving while side by side. Unfortunately ended up selling it but that was the one that comes to mind.
I love looking back at what others have done in the build threads and finding little deals that I hadn't considered before. Found a really cheap "dress-up" bolt that Rochester had recommended to someone that I bought two packs of that look really clean inside the engine bay in place of the OEM bolts. Also, I just installed the e-bay **** replacements. Came with 5, but 4 fit really tight and one was loose so no beefing up with electrical tape or plumbers tape.
I've been holding off on the build thread since I really haven't "built" it up at all compared to others but that will have to wait. Personal victory seeing the vinyl hold up against the extreme cold, salt and heat wave we just had
Going to really try to get the aam intakes installed and the test pipe and uprev tune installed in the next couple months and then I'll have to go on hiatus until the wedding passes....damn things can be pricey.
