New to the G Family

Hi Everyone

After seeing so many nicely modded G37 sedans on Instagram and here, I've decided to trade in my 06 Acura TL and join in on the fun. The cr@ppy thing is I just picked up a set of Verde Axis a month ago and wondering if they would fit on the G. Currently looking for a 2010 - 2013 G37X Sport (black or white).

I've gone through pages and pages on the forums but can't seem to find if 19x8.5 +38 w/235/35 F and 245/35 R would work on the G. I'm hoping that these wheels and tires will work so I don't need to spend more on new tires.

Thank you in advance for any input.

Welcome to the site.
The bolt pattern and offset will work fine, you might need some hub adapter rings, these will further center the wheel to reduce any possible vibration, the Infinifi wheel hub is 66.1mm.

And since you're considering an AWD you should go w/ those 245/35 tires all around. The mismatched front and rear tires are just a bit too far off, you need your front to back diameters to be less than 1% or you may have issues w/ your AWD at higher speeds. Those are close and will probably work, but there are better combos.

If you don't absolutely need a AWD you might consider looking for a RWD, especially the S models, these have a lot of nice features including bigger brakes and a limited slip diff. And those slightly different tires will work on the RWD just fine.
Hope that helps.
Brad

The biggest difference is the 2012+ Gs have an improved timing cover gasket, the previous years have a solid paper gasket that is inferior, and if this fails it costs upwards of $2k to get repaired.
Other than that nothing significant except purchase price & resale value.

Thank you again blnewt, is there a way to fix this before it happens?

Here's an epic thread from our site Administrator, he went through this failure.
https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...xperience.html
There's not much warning if any at all when this gasket starts to fail, installing an oil pressure gauge will signal dropping pressure but these tend to fail pretty quick.

This failure isn't inevitable, some that drive their Gs like they stole them have had no issues and some gently driven Gs have had it fail, it's really just a roll of the dice. You could do the R&R but it's a time intensive job and involves a lot of critical parts so as a DIY job it wouldn't be simple.

My 09 is still rolling fine @ 80k miles, but I'm prepared to DIY if it ever goes out, just a shame Infiniti/Nissan didn't step up to the plate sooner and get this addressed and also take care of those affected
