Noobie from a Subbie

Just picked up an 08 G37s Coupe with only 38k miles, wanted something more luxury and classy then my Subaru. Just tired of trying to get raced by every 19 year old out there.
Already in love with this car,nav bluetooth, RWD, backup camera in deff a step up in my book. Shes my new garage queen and cant wait to start modding her up and lurking the forums to figure out more about this car.

What the best way to get power out of these cars? I'm just look for around 300-320 rwhp nothing crazy like turbo or supercharger kits. Just a little extra power and some nice exterior modifications for this one.

Thanks
-Greg

Nice intro Greg, might have the 30-50 year olds wanting to race you now, lol.

As far as mods to boost your HP a bit~
High Flow Cats
Cat back exhaust
Cold Air Intake
And if you do those, finish up w/ an Uprev Tune
That should put you in the HP range you're wanting.

Congrats on your new ride and have fun.

Thanks from what i've been reading high flow cats are also called test pipes? I'm used to downpipes from the subbie world. I also don't like the cheap parts i respect the what you pay for is what you get motto.

Test pipes eliminate the cats entirely, high flow cats are better flowing cats. Test pipes will be much louder and possibly raspy. Resonated HFCs are a good compromise to get the extra power without going too crazy.

Fast Intentions is generally recognized as the "Go To" manufacturer for a quality set of RHFCs.

The Fast Intentions RHFC is the best cats replacement if you still want to love your ride. Paired up with a nice catback (there are plenty of options for the g37 coupe) will get a nice sound that will enhance your driving experience.

As for intakes, the Stillen Gen 3 is the most popular for HP/TQ gains, but requires some cutting to fit. The Takeda long tubes are also a good choice. There are also short ram intakes.

Finished with a tune will get you a good ride, but if you still want more after that, then headers, pulleys, and intake manifold may help you some more.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the upgrade! You got a lot of good advise here to go by. But I think after you get all that done you'll be wanting more, haha.
