They are so close. Drag racing is silly. Bring on the twisties where *****, tires, and skill matter most.

No it's not IMO. Drag racing is fun, running the engine at 10/10ths, doing raw power runs are a gas, and it's exhilarating to see another guys bumper drop further and further back. Of course, I saw a lot more of that when I had my tuned G8 GT, lol.

most any speed competition is fun, that's why most of us in here got into a performance car...I think. Drag racing is super fun & a rush for sure on the lights at a legit facility but I actually prefer the road course. The dragstrip here is just so convenient, I can go on my way home from work & run all night for $15.

Does the 7AT have a launch control or something.

Last time i checked the most important factor for drag racing was the launch from a dig.

Of course smooth power bands, reaction time, and 2wd/4wd make a difference too.

I would think a 6mt that feathers the clutch from launch would make better time compared to a 7AT that just holds the brake and gas at the same time then releases brake.

Wish I had a drag strip close by... I think it'd be fun to get your times after each mechanical mod to see if there is any improvement.

power braking from the start will get you off the line well. 4wd is a tab bit slower

I've only gone to the track once and my best run was 13.6 @102. Actually I think I had at least two runs with that ET and MPH. I tried leaving the line harder but got wheel hop and did worse... Oh, and I have the 7AT.

I thought the G would trap higher, but I think that had something to do with the weather. A modded G8 I raced several times was only hitting 104 MPH.

Although I had fun, I really miss my old ride... My mostly stock 2001 Corvette ran a best of 12.8 @ 112 MPH. Now THAT was a fun car!

I don't know about that. No traction issues with the X.

This doesn't make sense. 0-60 is an "off the line" measurement. And, "off the line" is a large factor in 1/4 mile ????

4 wheel drives usually bog down right after launch do to the high load being put on many heavy initially non-moving parts. A lot more power is required for a smooth fast acceleration.

G37x is faster than a G37xS because it is lighter both of my friends ran multiple times and the x beat the xS by almost a car lenght. A coupe Manual is on the same level as the x sedan, I seen it and couldn't believe it. Our cars top out 149Mph top.

I personally own a 2010 Maxima intake/y-pipe/deleted resonator. I don't even come close to a G37's. From a dig I get abused and from a roll I keep up until 100... Barely and then my CVT dies and the G starts leaving me by 5 if not 6 cars...

This is why I'm getting a G37x or wait ou t until the new G sedan will come out.
