i know i'm gonna get flamed, but honestly, Greg is right....

It's the same principal as running a straight exhaust....it'll add hp, but u'll lose all ur low end torque since u have no backpressure...

YES...a proverbial fine line between the genius and a charlatan. But no, just talking over the details of my painting exhibit, borring. Check out my albums, there is a picture of one of my paintings, 40 gallons of paint, 10ftX6ft.

Yes! This is why we only drilled a 3/4 of an inch hole. So whoever is doing it do not assume more holes is better at least in the exhaust case!

Hey Greg quick question. Why didn't you just put some washers in between the flange plates that hold the muffler to the mid-pipe? A couple of washers would give you the same overall aperture, would be tunable and wouldn't stick out the tips that much. Plus its reversible.

At low rpm's the mass of the gasses travels at relatively slow speed so it goes thru the muffler WITHOUT a major problem, the main pipe provides plenty of room for the gasses to escape. When you step on it the pressure of the gass increases and the muffler becomes restrictive this is why you need another small opening before the muffler to let the pressure off. This is how I came up with the 3/4 inch opening before the muffler in each pipe leading to it. Guys, this is not a joke, it works AND THE SOUND IS FANTASTIC, no rasp but going to high pitch almost like an exotic. The gasses do not go to the cabin because the hole directs them downward and out. You can always plug the opening with a 3/4 metal plug if you don't like it but the sound is so much better than the stock. You won't be sorry you've done it.
Quality R&D right there!! We might have ourselves a new vendor soon! haha

Don't flame on the guy if he wants to be creative. It's true that the muffler on our 40k + car is very restictive, but Nissan designed it that way so it can be DOT/EPA APPROVED. who are we to judge if he wants to drill holes on his car right?

I wonder though, a 1.5inch exhaust piping with very restrictive resonators from factory can actually make 12hp without the muffler. I thinking like the washer idea from deiseldoug, maybe I'll try it

I had an exhaust leak once... It sounded exoticly horrible I wonder how two exhaust leaks will sound

Personally, if I can't afford to buy a better looking, dyno proven exhaust, I'll just leave my 43k g37 alone.
