Just installed this spring and needless to say it definitely works... For me at least. makes driving this car much more confidence inspiring.. Like ive actually driven a manual car before. Didnt think it was stiffer with the softer spring. I thought it ended up being "softer" overall because there was less effort required to guess where the contact point is. Like others have said.. Not the most effective solution, but one that solves the problem enough given the price of admission. Thanks jsolo!

When I first got my '13 G37S sedan I noticed the same difficulty shifting smoothly that I had with my '11 370Z, but I attributed it to all the slop in the transmission mount and immediately replaced it. Since then I have not had one issue with shifting.

Does anyone with this spring also have a different transmission mount? I have never noticed an issue with the engagement point of the clutch. Is it possible that Infiniti changed something on the '13 model or did I just remove enough slop in the shifter to make the clutch feel ok?

Unless the mount is broken, there shouldn't be all that much slop in the trans to begin with. Can't really see how clutch pedal feel is related to the trans mount, unless as stated, it's loose or broken.

Engagement point is high on the stock clutch. This mod changes the pedal feel near the engagement point.

Compared to other performance car transmissions, there is quite a bit of movement in the shifter with the stock trans mount. Noticed the exact same thing on my 370Z when I got that brand new. You are right that the clutch pedal feel should not be related to the trans mount, but the act of shifting smoothly definitely is related when the shifter moves around.

I think the shifter spring and the trans mount might be the two areas that really make this car tough to shift smoothly. Just wondering if anyone else did the trans mount 1st as I have not noticed any shifting issues since I replaced it.

Sorry for the late response. I check the forums 1-2x a week and from one computer only. Best way to get a hold is via email (in the first post). First post is updated monthly or as needed.

@slowljoe, your item has been shipped and scheduled for delivery sometime in the next day or two.
