where is the fill plug of 2009 G37 Convertible Automatic
Hi, All
New here, I plan to change the transmission fluid at 95000 mile, based on the manual I should change it now. It is automatic, I can find the drain plug at bottom corner of the pan, but I can not find the fill plug. So where is it? anyone know? There is a similar post in this forum, but this question got diverted to a discussion of whether you should change it or not. So let's get to the point: It is a 7 speed automatic transmission, if I DIY, where is the fill plug? in the picture I can see the drain plug, but on the side there is no fill plug. Is the fill plug in the engine compartment, I dont see any there other than a Pink painted hex bolt.

the bulletin and the refill adaptor
Thanks for the reminder of the diy post, to clarify, the procedure is based on bulletin itb-11036, the drain plug is used to drain the Atf, the overfill plug is on the other corner of the pan, and I have a adaptor from Amazon which can screw in the refill hole perfectly, I connect the adaptor to the siphon pump discharge line, and it seal perfectly without leak. it also makes the pump-in job a breeze with one person only. before you refill, measure how much you drain out first and pump the equal amount back in. The overall sequence is just like Davison's post. It only takes me 40 minutes to do one drain and fill as I only bought 6 qt Matic S Atf . Will do it again once the other 12 bottle arrives .Good luck to you all.
This is the refill adaptor. A must for one man job.
This is the bulletin I am talking about, you can google the number and download it.

I had about 70k miles on my 09 when I did it last year, the gasket is really well made and mine came off without any issues, I doubt you'll have a problem re-using it there. There's a little fluid in the pan after the drop but it should come off pretty easily so the little bit left shouldn't slosh out. Once you remove the pan magnets it's real easy to thoroughly clean the pan. I wasn't able to source a part # to order a new filter, but mine looked real clean, I doubt yours would look any different.

Hopefully you have an inch/lb torque wrench, here's that part of the DIY link~
3. Removed transmission pan, cleaned it and installed it back. Torqued bolts to 6ft-lbs (it's best to use an inch-lbs torque wrench and torque to 70inch-lbs). Torqued drain plug to 25ft-lbs.
I just alternated back and forth w/ the bolts to even the torque all around, started at 35 in/lbs for the first go round then 60 the 2nd time around, then a final 70 to get it all snugged up.

drop pan and drain & fill final update: I was able.to finish the project in 4 hours including drain and fill 2 more times, dropped the pan and clean, level the car for final fluid self adjustment through the refill hole. The pan was very filthy, clean up both the pan and filter, the gasket is still in good shape. The test drive is significantly impressive, much smoother transmission and faster acceleration. Anybody doing this Must drop the pan! Thanks for all the help and information.
