how in the world would anyone know what that connector is for? did you disconnect it from something? if not, leave it the hell alone because it probably don't do squat in your car because you may not have the accessory or feature that the connector is used for.

Is your car running and everything operating as it should be? That connector does look important and I can't think of what it would be for. Look closely at the black boxes mounted on the wall near the passenger's right foot, see if you can find an empty socket it would fit. But then, your car would not be working correctly if that was the case...

Your service manuals are here if you feel like digging:
Index of /FSM/G37/Sedan/2010

You can search the "PG.pdf" book for the connector - find some possible candidates in the wiring harness drawings, then search for that numbered connector and it will describe what it's for.

I think the AWD models have a module behind the glove box, possibly the connector for the module you don't have with RWD?

Good find! Now you've got to wonder why it's not plugged in? And why it's not throwing you an error code.

If I'm interpreting this drawing correctly, the control unit is to the left of the glovebox near the center console. (?)
