Battery - Airbag light - ECU

2012 G37x sedan: Replaced the battery a few months ago. The airbag warning light has been blinking since. Tried resetting it with the starter switch method. That suceeded in making the light constanly flash a 1 7 code. Tried a handheld code reader. Would not connect. Tried a OBDII device with my Android phone and the Torque app. Connects to phone with bluetooth, but not to ECU. Appears to connect for a second and then disconnects. Help!

the bluetooth adapers used winth torque can't even read the RCU error codes... not to speak about airbag codes...

try this: put the car in ACC mode (press start, without pressing the brake).
Once the airbag light turn on, turn the car off. Do NOT let wait till the airbag light start blinking
Repeat the process 7 times.
7'th time, start the engine.
The airbag light should turn off and stay off.

If the light is still blinking, there might be a problem with the airbag harness connector under one of the front seats.

Here is a video:

On this video, he turn the ignition on/off 3 times.
I tested with 7 times because that's how it worked on my other older nissan cars and it worked just fine.

I've tried it both ways and checked the connectors under both seats. Still a 1 7 flash.

Since I can't get a code reader to connect to the ECU, would an ECU reset help?
