Hello all, I have a 2008 g37s.

Today was about 95f and I was driving in a parking lot, and suddenly the air started to come out hot. No more cold air. I parked and a few hours later drove home, still no cold air.

At idle when I turn the a/c on I can hear the fan turn on under the hood but no relay click noise. I believe the a/c relay is in the fuse box next to the battery but where is the a/c fuse? Is it in the same place?

If both of these are fine, is there anything else I can check? should I take it to an a/c shop or a mechanic?

It's likely not the ac relay you're hearing but the ac compressor clutch engaging. With the engine running you'd never hear the relay engage.

There must be a reason if clutch is no longer engaging . You either have a leak in the system or the compressor has failed.

If you have the right tools, you can hook up to the low/high side and see if pressures are within spec.

Hmm... I can probably get a pressure gauge from autozone or something. Do you think it is worth it to change the relay and check the fuse?

Ok, I just checked the pressure it is over 100 but the compressor was not engaged. The ac clutch is not engaging, and I can turn the compressor pulley, so I am going to see if the clutch relay is getting power or not.

I just got the HAC section of the FSM.

I will update this thread as I go on.

The ac clutch is just a magnet that sticks to the compressor it could either be a) no power to the clutch, which you can try and give it 12volts directly to see if it will engage. Or you can try and see if the the magnet and clutch are seized

I am able to turn the center thing on the compressor pulley, I believe that would not turn if the compressor was seized right?

I will try to give 12v tomorrow and see if it ticks.

you stated you have 100psi when you hooked up the gauge. is that a high side measurement or low side measurement? are you sure you even have enough refrigerant in the entire sys? if you want to see if you compressor clutch engages i would bypass the a/c pressure switch with the engine running. this way you can also check whether or not the temp at the vents cools down to 40-45deg. if compressor comes on and you still have hot air blowing from the vents you may have a low refrigerant issue.
