60K Service. Dealer wants $1700. Quote attached
So, my service advisor recently left the dealership and passed his work on to this new guy. I called up there to schedule a 60K maintenance visit. What I got back for the quote shocked me ($1738 out the door ), so I asked to get a breakdown. Attached. Is this outrageous?
I'm all about preventative maintenance, but a lot of this just seems like bull**** to me.
What are you all paying for the 60K package?
Also, note there's a line for auto trans fluid exchange which would not apply to my 6MT.

Just say no!!!!!
iTrader: (14)
* Engine restoration service $49.95
* Install BG Ethanol Defender $25
* Perform fuel induction cleaning service $159.95
* Perform mass airflow cleaning service $69.95
I'd be interested to know what these are, especially the first two.
If you have mechanical ability, everything on that list is DYI, even the trans service.
Probably wouldn't hurt to check the alignment either if there's any uneven tire wear.
Edit: DIdn't realize the OP had a 6mt. That's a piece of cake to do. It's identical to a drain/fill on the rear diff, only different fluid is used and more of it (3.5 qts).

I'm mechanically inclined and worked on all my cars in the past. In recent years, I just haven't had the time or drive to do it, so I've been letting the dealer, but this just seems over the top highway robbery.
I'm willing to pay a fair amount to have "someone else do it", but if they aren't going to play nice about it, forget it. I'll do it myself.

$250 for transmission service?
Nissan is saying that these are lifetime no service required.
I would probably not go lifetime on the same fluid, but wait until 100,000

There's a lot of nonsense here.
-$52 is a lot for an oil change. You could buy 5qts of premium synthetic a filter, a drain pan ramps and any other tools you need for roughly the same cost and enjoy dirt cheap synthetic changes forever.
-what the heck is a "premium oil conditioner"? Sounds like snake oil. Skip.
-Fuel system cleaner just means a bottle of stuff dumped in your gas tank. Skip or buy a $10 bottle of techron
-Do the air filters yourself. Easier than an oil change. literally a 30 second job that requires no tools.
-Do you battery terminals appear corroded? you can do this yourself with a wire brush, baking soda and water, if they are.
-Cabin air filter can be done with a screwdriver and 20 minutes of your time, filter itself is $25
-Cooling system is good for 100K miles
-Brake fluid is reasonable if you haven't done it in a couple years
-Engine restoration service? Skip
-BG Ethanol Defender. Snake oil. Skip
-Unless your car vibrates at speed, no need to re-balance the tires.
-Do your wipers wipe? if so, skip
-Automatic transmission service, as you said, you have a manual transmission, which you probably should change the fluid in, but not for $240. the MT fluid change is barely more difficult than an oil change and only needs about 3qts of fluid
-Does your a/c work? if so, skip
-PS fluid? Not a regular service item. if your steering is fine, skip.
-Fuel induction cleaning service? This is the third time they've tried to charge you to add a $10 can of cleaner to your gas tank. Skip.
-Rear differential fluid exchange is probably warranted at 60k. Barely more difficult than an oil change, charges 30% more than my dealership
-MAF sensor cleaning service. Does the car run fine? Skip.
-Shop charges? Give me a break.
In conclusion, your dealer thinks you're a chump

LOL gotta love that dealer love..
Took my 6mt to get a quote, at least they didn't try to charge you $280 for transmission oil change ( just for that........ )
I spent less than $550 and half of a Saturday to do oil change, transmission oil change differential oil change ( all full synthetic) brake fluid change and flushed, new rotors with new brake pads.. And that price include all the tools required to do the job, from Harbor freight..
I even got a creeper and 4 jack stands =)...
Take a Saturday and doit yourself.. Dealers are just a joke man...
