Replacing airbag + module Q's?
See link below, starting a new thread base off of this thread:
https://www.myg37.com/forums/general...-question.html
My car is a 11 Infiniti G37 Base Coupe
I was recently in a fender bender causing the driver side airbag to deploy, it wasn't a bad accident so its surprising to me the airbag even went off but regardless i have opted to do as much work myself rather than going through insurance.
Question is for the airbag module can i get away with having the module re-set instead of buying an entirely new one? Any pros vs cons compared to buying a new one or replacing the module on my particular car?

Can't speak to Infiniti, but have experience with Nissan and Fords. Both required a trip to the dealer for some sort of (re)programming. In both cases I only replaced the drivers airbag, not the crash module. Both cars had the SRS warning light on until the dealers did their thing. One hour of shop labor, so right at $100. I can't imagine that Infiniti would be much different. Nissan was an 06 Altima. See in the other thread somebody said the module shorts. Best bet might be to stop by a Infiniti or Nissan dealer & ask in person. Good luck.

Like you I'm rebuilding a damaged G37 (2011 G37xS). My car has blown right side bags. 1st where is the airbag module located and how long to take it out? I've never done a Nissan product before' but have used 5-star airbags for reset service before along with seatbelt rebuilding, and was happy with their service. I believe it's perfectly acceptable practice, but insurance won't do it because of liability reasons.

It seems that it's inside the center console. Looking on eBay, there appears to be a special tamper proof socket for removing the module which cost about $20.
