G37 Sedan hood is loose

Hi all,

I have 09 G37 Sedan and today when I pressed down hood with my palms, I can feel hood is loose and it moves up and down little.

This is weird because my other Honda accord my hood is tight and doesn't move how much I press down.

Can you tell me if this is normal? Under the hood there are two rubber dampers between two hooks. I tried to adjust the length to see if it would help. It made a little difference, and still hood is not tight fit and when pressed down.

If you don't mind, can you go out there and press down your hood and let me know if it's tight or loose. Thanks.

This is normal, I was washing my car when I discovered the hood jiggles a lil when you press down on it. I went to an Infiniti delearship and pressed on a few hoods, they all do it.

Funny, I just noticed this a couple of days ago. It looked like one side was just a hair higher than the other. I noticed after my oil change, when I looked under the hood to make sure they put my oil cap back on. Had a bad experience one time where they didn't so I always check the cap and oil level after an oil change.

Yes this is absolutely normal. There is nothing wrong and I think it's better that it's made to give a little so that when people push down on it instead of breaking something it just gives.

If one side is higher than the other open the hood and adjust the rubber stoppers next to the hood latches. They screw/unscrew to change the hood height (very slightly)

you can fix this by twisting the rubber ***** on the underside of the hood (towards the front of the hood). These rubber ***** elongate/shrink depending on how you turn them. My hood did the same thing until i manipulated these ***** and got a tight fit.

just noticed that too while washing my car..kept closing it repeatedly cause thought it was not catching properly? Guess from what I see here, it's somewhat normal? Shoudn't be though!

Just turned those rubber ***** a hair and now my hood closes perfectly! Anyone who notices the hood doesn't close snug, just try this!
