Does anyone know what the yellow Triangle is, it appeared on the dash ? i let my brother drive the car, and he came back with it on, there was a burnt smell coming from the from the front ... ? could it be engine damage/trans?

TPMS is your Tire Pressure Monitoring System. My guess is the burnt smell was your tires and your brother went on a hardcore joy ride. Go put air in your tires and see if the warning goes away. Then beat his a$$

i just turned the car on to go to the gas station to put air in the tires .
and as i was backin up the yellow triangle went off ? i went around the block to see if it was going to turn on again but it stayed off. Thanks guys for helping me out with this problem, i appreciate it alot.





i feel kinda bad that i yelled at my brother now, i have to go apologize

I would still go check the pressure to be sure.

Yeah, when the tire pressure drops below 26 psi the light goes on, to fix it just add some air.

Wait, sorry I didn't fully read the post and just saw the TPMS. The yellow triangle with exclamation point is your master alarm. This can come on when you need gas, door is opened, etc. Was there any text on the gauge cluster screen?

LOL, that's not the TPMS light! That comes on whenever there is any warning. For example, when the gas is low (<30 miles to empty). It should tell you whatever the problem is in your dashboard screen when you start the car. Did you get gas when you were at the gas station by any chance?


The lesson here is look in your manual before you blindly trust an answer from an internet forum. If you did, you would have found the problem is one of:
Low gas
No Key
Trunk or door ajar
low washer fluid
parking brake release warning

But again, it should have also displayed whichever of these problems it was in your dashboard screen. It seems strange that it didn't unless you somehow missed it.

yeah, the Triangle with the ! is a general warning light....flip through the menu and it should display the error

yea you guys did say it was either the TPM or the gas cap ... and i did turn the gas cap before starting the car... and the light did go off ...

so guys its a WIN WIN situation ...

it'll also turn on and beeps if you open your door with the engine running, its kinda' a "pay attention, you fool" warning light...
