At any Nissan or Infiniti dealership. Or online.

I see you edited your first post to specify that you want it cheap and you want to find it online. I wouldn't say members were ripping your question apart, it wasn't specific before your edit.

You wont find it cheap. Because it has to come form Nissan.

Nissan Ester Oil 5W30. Specifically designed for the new 3.7 liter VQ engines.

You save about $10 and taxes, but that $10 goes to shipping. So I guess you save what you would pay for taxes.

What is so good about this oil and why do people use it as opposed to real oil companies' products, that are also cheaper?

^^Originally that is what they told me too. But then about a year ago my tech said there was an ECU update that fixed the tick and I could go back to regular and did and have been fine since.

Ahhh... the same oil issues.
Frankly I don't know what it is that makes this oil different than something like mobil 1 or penzoil platinum, -both excellent- nor do I care.
The 2012 infiniti owner's manual states "Infiniti recommends original Nissan ester oil" written just like this, with bold lettering.
That to me means that they must want you to use it.
If you feel that $10.50 for a quart of oil is excessive I think you are rightfully offended, but Nissan does not care. They still emphatically recommend this oil for this engine.
They don't demand that you use it, only recommend that you use it, with bold lettering.
I paid a lot of money for my G37S 6MT and love it so far.
$10.50 per quart of oil every 5,000 miles is not a significant expense for me so I use it, because that's exactly what the infiniti owners manual recommends.
I don't particularly care what others think about this issue, it seems to be quite controversial and polarizing despite the very clear recommendation from the manufacturer so please save your irate comments.
If you want to save the 3 or 4 dollars per quart of oil for your G well... good for you!
I have absolutely no problem with that.
Cheers,
Daniel

I was in the dealership and they told me that the 2011's do NOT use Ester oil. In fact I believe they told me that half way through the 2010 year was when the Ester oil was no longer needed. They have NOT been putting it in either of my cars at either dealership, Infiniti as well as Nissan. Both are 2011 3.7 VQs

It is not stated in either of my owners manuals either that ester oil is even recommended.

Ester oil rocks, all the motul race oils have ester in them, so do the redline racing oils.

A good ester oil coats the entire windage tray and rotating assembly, its nice stuff if you drive hard.

Theres been tonnes of debate over Nissans Ester Oil, but its apparently contracted by a top-notch oil manufacturer, I forget the brand right now if anyone can chime in?.

My only issue with the Nissan Ester Oil is its shorter change intervals, but that is to be expected with any Ester Oil.

Nissan stopped recommending it most likely because of the cost of manufacture and getting the dealerships to actually use it, vs there generic local contracts dealerships had already.
