Interior Trim from fake red wood to Carbon Fiber wrap

Hey guys, been lurking here since I got my g37x sedan a few years ago, Just wanted to shout out to the community for how helpful you guys have been with my projects!

I have yet to see this combo here so I figured I would post in case anyone with the wheat interior is considering making a change, overall I am extremely happy with the results.

The process was tedious as I did everything at once, the wrap actually took much much longer than removing the parts, note this is the first time I have used a vinyl wrap, the 3m 1080 is legit, fabulous product and fairly easy and forgiving to work with, pics bellow!

edit: forgot to mention I went with a kinda unique Idea here, few petrol heads and I thought leaving the "runners" chrome, as well as the shift baseplate would give some nice contrast to our other "chromish" accents.

Nice little project to make the interior stand out. Not sure if I would like this on my car, I kinda like my fake wood trim. Especially over brushed aluminum finish, which tends to get scratchy

No clue how you havent seen this combo yet, but going from fake wood to fake CF w/stone interior imo looks terrible. The whole fake CF was the biggest mistake. Maybe if you went with another color that better fit the stone then I think it would have turned out better.

I'm pretty sure that wood is actually real.

I'd have left the wood with the beige seats

That is REAL maple wood. I believe a $550 option and looks great with black interior.

I'd have to agree with the others - while I'm no interior designer, CF looks out of place with the natural colors of your interior. But I applaud you for pulling off such a clean job. Well done!

Thanks, rough crowd here haha, I do think it looks really nice in person, with the lighter tones down low and the darker tones above

Hey, you did a quality job and most of all, you like it, should be enough

And best of all, since you know what the job requires it's not too bad to try another shade if & when.

honestly with a small "crafting" power drill, like really small, I could have all the components out in 30 minutes tops, the tedious part is the wrapping, I got a little faster towards the end, but cutting all the relief slits to make it perfect was...... mind numbing

Yeah, did mine a couple years ago, not bad like you said, just the attention to details. Probably do mine in that black machined or a wood grain perhaps down the road as the shade I went with is quite similar to the washi aluminum.
