Black Out window trim or leave it chrome?

If you do de-chrome, I would use the same color of your wheels so you'll have a balance look.

Anyone have a black G with matte black window trim?

I did gloss black on mine, but it was my first time working with vinyl, so I'm thinking about redoing it, plus at about 2 yrs later, its starting to show it age (peeling, wrinkles)

Although gloss looks nice, thinking about changing up the look. Would think matte black would offer a nice contract, since basically the rest of my car is gloss black.

Gloss black. I don't want to have to change the color of the trim if I decide to change the wheel color.

Matte should look fine but I'd do the pillars too while you're at it.

I would be interested to see like a carbon fiber wrap or a gun metal gray wrap for the chrome trim.

Might ask this poster for more pics, he went w/ a graphite vinyl. And I'd strongly recommend not going w/ a CF trim, would be a step in the wrong direction, and probably a big step. https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...ml#post4073597

I personally thought it looked great on his black car w/ his graphite wheels. Having dark tinted windows, I don't think it matters that it doesn't match the B-pillars.

Definitely blacked out, looks sportier. This is what mine looks like with the vinyl wrap.

First, not hating on your opinion. I've seen the gloss wrap in lots of photos and in person, and I just don't like it as much as matte. I was all about less chrome, and going with gloss didn't seem like enough of a change for me.

You're right, the vinyl fail was likely the installer (me) thinking I was handier with it than I actually was. I researched like crazy, prepped meticulously, and it was still tough to work with. All 3M stuff, but I really had a bad time with it, and it started peeling a couple of weeks later.

Just like others here speaking about vinyl wrap, I frankly don't understand the people having so much trouble with Plasti Dip. My grille and wheels have held up for two years each through a harsh Midwest winter, and the trim looks easily as good as matte vinyl wrap and just as durable. 5-7 heavy coats and I'm really pleased with the results.

Good looking cars in here, regardless of your choice!
