Car totally shut down on the freeway
So my wife's driving home from work she says every dash light lights up flashing like crazy and the car instantly dies ..I go to pick her up and check it out and the cars comlety dead the rpms say 2200 temps at half the tanks full etc so it obviously shut down at that time. I disconnected the battery and there was nothing. Then I'm getting it towed and the key lock won't work to get it in neutral so we had to drag it on and we got it dropped it off at the shop.. If anyone has a remote idea let me know Thanks

I hope so I've never had a car just died like that only have the car 4 months and already fixed a overheating issue. I've had lexus Is for 13 years and never had a break down. I was hoping the reliability would be close

A shutdown while the car is running is usually an alternator failure because the electrical system is not being powered and the battery eventually dies from powering all the accessories. Happened in my other Infiniti but that thing was near 13 years old at the time.

Trust me I had several issues my car already long story short thought these cars were bulletproof but they are not things happen like any other cars. Now sounds like you battery is dead and can be due to bad battery or bad alternator, mine went into limp mode at a street light and died right away. Get it checked out and diagnosed my alternator went out at 51k miles. I'm on my second G37 and this recent one has been a headache lol but don't worry a battery or alternator shouldn't make you think the car is not reliable all cars run into the issue at one point
