So, what did the G37 owners upgrade to?

I would avoid any used turbo vehicle. I also looked at the used gtr crowd and they still command about 60-70k for decent mileage. For that price I can land myself in a brand new srt charger, a nice zl1 camaro, gt500 etc etc.
I have had my g37 for about 4 months now. It is a nice car but coming from my 400whp 450wtq monster it is definitely missing something.
Been tossing around the idea of trading it in near the 1 year mark for the srt charger or a qx70.

Ah I see some good choices mentioned...Its not like Im anti Nissan (I've had a 96 maxima, 02 altima, 06 altima, 03 g35, 09 g37). Its just the 7 spd with this low turque, heavy car (awd) make it AWFUL for city driving. Even my I4 altima was faster getting off the line at lower rpms. Let alone the G35 coupe.
The SRT8 chrysler I've always wondered about, I was thinking M56, CTS-V (albeit a little high mileage). But one thing is for sure, I will most likely test drive MUCH more extensively so I can keep the car for a longer time.
Do they offer like 100k mile/few years warranty on german cars (S5) for a reasonable price?

With the G being my first car, I feel like I've set the standard kinda high. I'm gonna drive it for a while, not too worried about resale value cause it's trash anyways. I'm thinking Lexus IS-F, Audi S6 (Avant?), CTS-V, Pontiac G8 or maybe even a newer STi... I love the Mercedes C/E class, but I can't deal with that maintenance unless I have a great paying job. And even then, I like doing my own work and learning as I go. I'm only 20 right now so I still have a long time to think. For now I'm focused on upgrades for my G.

My 6MT Sedan was "next car" for about 3 years before it became a reality. It's a great feeling when a plan gets put into motion, and you actually ride that plan through. Because of low miles, and a detailed budget for mods, my G represents a 10 year plan for ownership, and I'm almost 5 years into it.
My next "next car" is still on track (in my head), as a 4 to 5 year old Jaguar F-Type S Coupe 6MT. If all goes well, I suspect I'll be retiring with that Jag.
However, if age gives me feet of clay, and the days of driving a stiff, RWD, 6MT car are over... then I may very well consider the 400hp Lincoln MKZ, and do nothing with it whatsoever except keep the car clean.

Carmax offers great warranties. We have a 5 year 100k warranty on our 128i and it's damn near bumper to bumper coverage and was around 2k bucks. You can go 6 years 125k I believe as well, even on AMG or M cars. The best part is, the warranty starts the day you buy the car.

Not that it can't be done. Cars today easily hit 100k and more. Particularly mature engine designs, like the Nissan VQ. Add simple, regular maintenance, a car enthusiast's attitude, and a little bit of luck... and you can have a like-new car for 10 years easy.

Whenever I get rid of the G I would like to upgrade to a E63 or E550 (turbo model). Much bigger body but they have a decent upgrade community and are good handling cars.
A few months ago I was moments away from getting a C63 sedan but I couldn't get over how small that interior was. Wasn't going to suit my family's needs. Still.... that exhaust note!

What's your favorite part of your G? If you want Sedans ATS and IS350 both handle well and are fun. Coupes the new mustangs and camaros have a similar exciting factor as a G imo with a good amount of oversteer when you want and the new interiors have came along way. 370z is always something to look into, getting a nismo would be a nice setup if you're a fan of the G and VQ engines.
Plenty of options I could go on for days of all the new vehicles I've driven compared to mine. One of my favorite sedans in high 20s/low 30s was a 3.0 supercharged XF. Handled well, fun to drive, rwd, classy and you have some tunability.

After 4 G's and countless outher rides, I'm looking at S5 or ISF, likely the Lexus next. Just want more power even if it will mean going back to boring auto. 420HP and half the repair/maintenance of an E92/AMG really calls my name though lol.
