What tint % are your windows?

Hey All,

I'm thinking about getting my windows tinted on my g37, and was wondering what % is recommended. Obviously, most lower tints are completely illegal, but if you could provide pics that would be super helpful!

Also, I have a good friend that powder coats the calipers around the inside of your wheel. He is giving me advice saying that if i did that to my car it would look sick. He isnt even going to charge me. Did anyone out there powder coat their calipers with a color? If so do you have any pics?

Thanks in advance!

% darkness varies between brands. I think you should go to your local tint shop to see what brands and % they offer. IMO 30% is the perfect balance between having privacy and being pulled over. What state do you live in?

I'm in Pennsylvania. So 35% is the legal tint. I was thinking 30% but that's pretty dark. How much different is 20% to 30%?

i run 20% all around. I dont think they are that dark. just google 20 percent and 30 percent tint.

about the powder coating it really depends on what color you are going to use and what color your car is. and it really boils down to personal preference.

Yeah I was thinking going with 20% but didn't know it that was too dark or not but that's what I'm thinking.

My car is grey. I'm not really sure what would Look good or not. He's a good friend and claims whatever work he does will make it look awesome. Just trying to pull the trigger on something but not sure. Any suggestions.

do you have the base or the sport brakes? cause i like my sport brakes in the silver color it comes with. P.S. dont do red. sooo played out.

I had 30% on my car and it was just to light for me so I ended up taking them off and got 20% all around and don't regret it for a second.

^Just the opposite...went from 35% all around in my Acura to 20% in the G. I think 20% is too dark, but it sure looks good on OB in the sun!

BTW, I'm in PA, too. Never had anyone flag me for the tint on yearly inspections. Also note, there is no legal tint in PA---OEM only.

You’re new to this forum so in the absence of reading the thousands of posts on this subject, you should stay legal for your state. It will contribute to a peaceful driving experience, and perhaps save your life one night.

I have the sport and it does come with the silver. I think it looks good how it is but he brought up the idea to me and I figured I would ask around to see what everyone thought.

Sounds good and thanks for the pic. Maybe I'll consider a 25-30% which the place does offer. Prob not much difference from 35 to 30 but it's gotta be a little darker.

Def will contribute to a peaceful driving experience with close to legal tint. What do you mean save my life? From getting pulled over by the PO PO ?

If you're going right to the legal limit, consider that they already have some on from the factory, so if someone puts a meter on it, you might be surprised.
