I wrote to GT-Spec about the quick-release bolts that Whiteline and Cusco are selling. I was told they don't offer them for their tower braces, and have no plans to do so.

It was a somewhat curt response.

So, that just happened.

Those are typical flange nuts, and don't have an inner collar like the hardware GT-Spec provides. So... nope.

I actually had a set of polished titanium nuts that I was going to use for the FSTB, until it arrived and I realized that wasn't going to work as well as the ones that came with the bar.

What do you think about the upper bar dress-up kit. I realize you created your own...but what about those of us without your wherewithal?

The bolts? I wouldn't so much call that a "kit". But they look fine. IDK if that's SS or Titanium, and I'm pretty partial to Ti. None too fond of that burnt look. You should probably use washers, and those nuts aren't nyloc, if that matters. Don't know if it does, but I like it.



You've got wherewithal, Sean. It's just a pair of bolts, step up, buddy.

Thanks Rochester.

All set. Nice and shiny, and no emblem. It looks great plain.

Thanks to bigc as well, the EZ-Off was the way to go. I budgeted two hours for this, and ended up with just over an hour to spare.

Now to contemplate nuts and bolts. Not sure though, I forgot how nice the hardware is that came with it.

I'll spare you all redundant pics. Now on to the engine cover. Yee Ha, Giddy Up.

You know, Sean, redundant pics are only dissed if they suck. Take some quality photos and post them up. I'd like to see what you did.

The original hardware is OK, but IIRC it's not even polished SS, it's chromed steel.

These dual-drive bolts are sure pretty:

Off topic-ish but, did you really notice any difference with the fstb? All my reading says that has minimal effect... more for looks.

Does look cool though, i want one lol.

Does anyone know if regular flange nuts can be used as an alternative, safely? If so, what size? Bought a used bar, received no hardware. This right up has been extremely helpful for all other hardware! GTspec is one hard company to get ahold of.

dragion (or anyone else), were you able to purchase the hardware kit from GTSpec? If not, what did you do? I'm in the same boat with a used bar. Seller did not send hardware. I tried PMing him hoping he may still have it but I'm not optimistic and looking for solutions.

I'm located in Boston too...except I no longer own a G37, but a Q50S now.

I'm trying to see if it is possible to install the GTSPEC FSTB on the Q50S, but the dealer removed it from the G37 and lost the shock nuts.
I'm trying to order another set and waiting for a response back from GTSPEC.
William, my Tanabe strut bar that is for a Q50 (Tanabe doesn't list ANY strut bar part #s for any G37s) fits my G just fine, so I would be almost 100% sure the GTSPEC will fit your Q.

I test fitted the GTSPEC, but it seems that the brackets don't fit due to a small pipe restriction on the Q50.

*See below
If you look on the left (passenger's side), you will notice a thin tube that runs down to the area where the bracket fits. This is the same for the driver's side.

I never received a response back from GTSPEC after several attempts of contact.
I ended up selling the GTSPEC FSTB without the nuts and ended up purchasing the Tanabe FSTB.

Unfortunately not.
No response from GTSPEC about purchasing another set.

Good luck with locating some...
