Need wise opinion here.
So my 09 Gx sedan just hit 60k and I had to bring it to the dealer for service. I was getting loud noise in front left at high speed. Here is the question. They told me both front wheel bearings (both sides), front left arms that hold the wheel in place need to be replaced (don't know the exact name of the arms) , full transmission flush including AWD one as well, front & back brake pads, alignment, oil change and so other things. Comes to 3,700 dollars and they are willing to work and already offered 10 percent discount and will go more probably. What would you do? Could I find it decently cheaper or what?

Break pads also at Rock auto Centric Posi Quiet Ceramic premium brake pads is a good choice for a daily, make sure the reputable shop also uses the oem transmission fluid for replacement you will notice how much money you will save with still having quality parts

If you had to guess how much you think I would save?

Try another dealer or shop. It is not very likely that all those parts failed at the same time. It sounds like it is just a wheel bearing.
I would stick with OEM parts. Some of the aftermarket parts are poor quality and don't last -or- they are redesigned to be cheaper to manufacture and don't function the same as OEM.
I picked up a aftermarket rad hose for my E39. The hose was 15% smaller in diameter! I didn't use it.

I agree with Sonic. I've never seen both wheel bearings go at once, and I believe they are telling you to replace the control arms, which is odd as the bushings on the control arms are normally what wear. And to be honest, 60K is a little early. I had an 04 with 100K and never touched either and just replaced both on my wife's Pilot at 140K.
I believe the bushing circled below is typically what wears out. Maybe it's just easier to replace the entire arm?

I tried looking up just those exact bushings and from all I could find they are not a serviceable item and the whole arm needs to be ordered.
OP, You really need to get a second opinion, to me it sounds like the service dept. is reeling you in. A AT flush should be in the mid $200 range, and the other items may or may not be needed. I'd even try a Nissan dealer or a independent shop that gets good feedback.
Many aftermarket parts are better than OEM but you have to pick and choose there. OEM parts aren't ALWAYS a lot more money, especially when you shop around online like such as discountinfinitiparts.com.
Also there's 5% off Rockauto codes in the off topic folder almost always

Hmmm I just checked one part:
parts.infiniti.com has wheel bearings for $224.
Ask the dealer why the parts are more than from Infiniti -or- move on to a different dealer.
Why do they want to replace the control arms?

Take it to an independent shop/mechanic or Nissan/Infiniti specialist. They'll probably do it for half of what the dealer wants.

If you have a Nissan dealer close by just take it there and tell them what you heard, let them evaluate it and get that second opinion. From there you should be able to get an idea of what really needs to be addressed. And like 93 mentioned, an independent shop that specializes in Japanese brands would probably save you much more.
If those bushings are shot in both control arms then they should be replaced (assuming the bushings aren't replaceable), but both needing replacement along w/ both wheel bearings at 60k miles sounds extreme unless your vehicle has really been through a lot of harsh use.
A full brake flush is a quart of fluid and about 30 minutes labor, and the brakes should be all new rotors , not just resurfaced for the prices you're being quoted.

whats up guys
I am about to order some parts off rock auto and it gets a bit confusing as far as which exact part to order since there are multiple ones to choose from. I have a 2009 G37xS and I am in need of both front wheel bearings, front left control arm and brake pads. I know I asked earlier in this thread but i was wondering if somebody could help me out and guide me to the exact parts because I honestly don't know which ones are the best to go with.
This is what infiniti gave me for part numbers but cannot seem to find them on rock auto:
Wheel Bearings- 40202-4GE0A
Front left control Arm- 54501-1NA4B
thanks

Do you have your car lowered and spacers...because both wheel bearings.?..seems odd especially if your stock. I think you can do these things yourself and you can get better tires for lesss at discount tire. My Mich's were around the lowest price they quoted at discount tire..
