Installed my side marker lights

I've had my side marker lights for a while but never wired them due to the PITA process I've been reading about for a while on here. I attempted wiring through the cabin the "traditional" way and found myself cursing every other minute and pausing with sighs as I try to deliberate. Then I stumbled upon an article of someone installing them using their taillights and I attacked the project at full force.

For some reason the taillight method never registered to me until I saw the article (thank god). I knew it would be easier for me since I already have the LED turn signal mod and a small 8 inch subwoofer I wired to give our factory system a more complete sound. The hiding process and wiring were a piece of cake and ended up being more fun than onerous.

Here is a night time video...

Here are some day pictures to show how I modded the markers to look more fitting for the G, or my G at least. They originally looked just like any other set of ebay side markers, with the exception of the JDM ones. Before buying a set I already knew I would mod those ugly things and make it work. I believe you're able to zoom in and check out the side markers closer.

I've been more into modernizing my G more than anything since buying it. Adding these side markers were a must do for me from the visual aspect alone. The safety provided from them is the added bonus. MaQG37 finally convinced me to get some switchbacks soon

Rear deck spoiler next!

I spent the day installing Signal mirrors on my Sedan. - G35Driver

This thread gave me the idea and motivated me to finish the project. Easy to moderate mod overall.

Looks good from those pics & video clip
Do you have some close shots of just the mirrors?
And the link for the actual markers you used?
Would be a nice addition I think.
Thanks!

It's visually obvious what was done, but for the few who may ask, I Vinyl wrapped the part of the light that doesn't light up and bottom of cover, then smoked the rest. Unsure of why they made the light extend all the way in the front of the cover like that in the first place? O well! Hope these help someone

That's interesting, I hadn't considered pulling it off the rear blinkers. I'll probably still run it via "normal" with the folding mirrors but we'll see.

Unfortunately, it looks like the seller stopped selling them or something I've seen them on ebay ever since I owned my G. After searching and attempting to click my order in my purchase history it doesn't take me anywhere.

Here is a link to the FX Side Markers he sells as well. They're the only ones I see that look similar to the ones I have. DO NOT BUY THESE

It blew me away from how many comments I've read from people complaining of the look the side markers have like they're impossible to fabricate. blnewt with your vinyl skills, I see this being an easy and fun thing to try. There's definitely more ways to play around with them.

For the people interested on purchasing these, contact the seller Nabobery from the link above, he's cool. Hopefully I suck at searching on ebay and they're actually on there ready to buy. $50 for paint match
