0-60mph 5.48 seconds

Last night, 3AM, I took an empty road to test my 2010 G37x's 0-60. I'm not into racing at all but just curious how fast my G37x can really do. I used the cell phone to record the dashboard and timed acceleration with stopwatch when playing the video later on computer.

0-60 in 5.48 seconds is really not shabby. I didn't do anything other than pressing the gas paddle all the way down to the floor. Full auto transmission. The road wasn't even flat - it has a slight incline and a bit curve.

Now I'm happy with the results and won't do the test again...

5.48? That's faster than 5.5, right?

Being a scientist, I decided to time the video a few more times, arriving an average of 5.32 +/- 0.13 seconds...

You should probably repeat this at least 100 times over the next 6 months under identical conditions to make sure your initial results are not just an anomaly.

I know... I was kind of joking by saying that I timed the video multiple times but never bother to repeat the run a few more times.

This is just to fulfill my curiosity. The results was in line with what I saw online so I'm totally satisfied.

I always wondered what scientists do at 3AM. Now I know. Thank you!

3AM is normal to me. Years after years of doing experiments on bench then endless writing and reading of grants and papers and so on, I'm perpetually stuck with this daily schedule. Kind of sad.

As another scientist, too many variables repeat this experiment with more constant. LOL

Dude, great to hear! The G feels pretty quick, but rippingly quick. THe 2015 GTR Nismo is listed at 2.7 secs. Car & Driver says the Z-06 does it in 3.0 seconds! The new Camaro SS is supposed to be a little less than 4 seconds with the auto. The 2016 ATS-V and CTS-V are sub-4 secs as well. Then you get down to us and the Genesis Coupe guys All of a sudden this forum got a little rabid!

And there is Tesla P90D. That car does 2.8 seconds too. Wish I had the money.

Once I test drove those electric cars I found ICEs kind of primitive and noisy. My next car must be electric, be it a 2nd generation Volt (why can't they put a bigger motor to make it as fast as G? damn...) or an used Tesla 85 sth...
