k and n engine filters

Hi guys, recently purchased a used g37x and today i decided to buy new engine filters for the car and chose the k&n filters. However, upon installing them i find these filters were hard to lock in and required much more force than the paper filters to lock in place. Is the extra force a sign that these filters have problems or is it normal?

It's perfectly normal. I have them as well and it took some force to get it to clap together. No worries though

+1

I prefer afe dry filters. Same price, reusable, and no worries about the oil messing with the MAF.
