Small world! I also replaced a G with an SS. Wife thought I was crazy for getting rid of the G, but I've been watching the SS closely since they came out and when they added the magnetic ride for 2015 that tipped it in for me. I've been wanting something with a V8 for a while, and every time I start her up that exhaust pop and burble brings a smile to my face
I like to think the SS combines the best features of my last two cars into one. It has the straight line speed and throw you back in the seat torque of my modded Subaru Forester XT, and the handling, luxury features and refinement of my G37 xS. No performance mods yet, just appearance (Xpel on the front and partial hood, Opticoat Pro, blacked out bow ties and tint). I'm sure I'll do the usual intake/exhaust and other performance mods at some point, but for now just enjoying it in stock mode.

Still on the fence as to whether to get a set of Conti DWS and try to get by with those or spring for dedicated winter tires. I had (still have, actually and need to sell) dedicated winter wheels/tires for the G, and also have two other sets of winter tires laying around that I need to get rid of, so don't have a lot of extra room for another set. Will need to get new tires either way though as the SS comes with summer tires stock (Bridgestone RE050A).

I'm cross shopping the SS/Golf R and Audi S3. All totally different cars and the Chicago winters do concern me without AWD. But damn I like the SS. The last V8 my family had was an old Ford Econoline conversion van. At least I think it was a V8. lol
Not too keen on the stock wheels, so I'd probably burn out those tires and slap winters on them and find some summer wheels/tires that better suit it.
Please come back once in awhile and post updates.

Yes, I don't really have the space for a third car, so this will be my year round vehicle.
