Sold the G

Guys,

Just sold my G sedan yesterday. It has been great being a part of this community and forum. And I had no complaints with my G, had for 2.5 years and put 24k miles on it, and never had a single issue/problem with it. Kind of fun to be one of the first to help get the Fortune Auto 500 coilovers made for our all wheel drive G's too.

I will check in here from time to time, but got an amazing deal on a 2015.5 Volvo V60 T6 R-Design.

Hahahaha actually not at all. I wanted a performance wagon, needed space for my hobbies of mountain biking and skiing and won't drive an SUV. Plus with 325hp and 354 ft lbs torque, this AWD turbo straight 6 is faster than the G was.

Thanks, I will be around here for sure.

Fantastic upgrade. Tons of features and refinements. I'm not a fan of "start stop technology" - does the Polestar have this? At the bottom of the HVAC control stack, near where you defeat the start/stop feature is a button with what looks like a headrest on it. Its fun when there are kids in the back seat. The various electronic gauge arrangements is fun too. No oil dipstick and no spare tire, otherwise a wonderful vehicle. You'll enjoy shocking people who thought it was nothing more than a safety-minded wagon.

Faster might be optimistic. From what I gather they are about equal stock for stock. It's always nice to have a turbo to play with though when it comes to modifying. Congrats!

Sorry to see you moving on from the G, you've been a good contributor to the site. Hopefully you'll chime in now & then.

Off the line they are quicker but through the powerband both are pretty equal (hence the similar quarter mile times). However, your new car is definitely more unique and gotta love that torque. Sadly though, no manual no care for me. Congrats.

I'm planning on trading in my G as well.

I'd be replacing it with a 2013 or newer G...preferably a coupe, and perhaps even a Sport model

Thanks all for the comments. I will post some more pics once I get her cleaned up and can find a nice photo spot.

Thanks, yeah it has some funny features like the headrest folding button. The T6 does not have the start stop function, I would have hated that. I wish it was the full Polestar version, but Polestar provides the tuning on the T6, hence the badge.

Thanks, yes they are very similar but the extra torque definitely makes it feel faster around town than the G. What I have heard is these motors open up quite a bit once they have a few thousand miles on them. Will have to take a trip to the drag strip once its broken in and see what she will do.

A RWD sport G is a huge upgrade over the X. I needed the space, otherwise I might have waited for the new Q60.

It was bothering me that the area in the pictures looked so familiar but I figured it out. Orland Park. I live less than 10 minutes away from that dealership.

Thanks. CTS-V wagon was on my list, but couldn't find one for sale.
