Question about odd Invidia flex section
#3
that's the revised version. that's what i installed on my 2012 g37x. in my case, i had to flip the passenger side flex pipe to get it to go around the front differential. that's the invidia q300 right? the older version of this exhaust has the traditional style flex pipe that has the braided look. this one uses springs. completely normal. that's just the updated design.

Ah ok, so revised still doesn't mean it will clear on AWD? I'm not sure how you tell the difference between q300 and Gemini ??

EDIT: found the thread I mentioned and it looks like you actually commented in it.

That's the thread that I saw before I bought my exhaust that let me know it was possible to fit the awd with modification. I just did exactly that. The only difference was the flex section design. They just look different that's it. So the pic you posted from LKQ has the updated flex pipe design just like my q300 exhaust system. When I get my car in the shop later this week, I can show you a picture of mine.
I hope this helps answer your questions though.

thanks for the reply. If you could take some pics where you cut yours that would be awesome. Not sure where it should be cut with the version I have, doesn't look as straight forward as the braided flex version.

I agree it does look kinda funny as opposed to the older version. I actually forgot to take a pic. Got distracted when one of the cables slipped off of a pulley on the ramp I had my car on lol. After we fixed it, I completely forgot. I'll have it back in the shop this week for one more modification though and hopefully snap it at that point.

V1mirage, nice set up. Exactly what I want to do. Any chance for us getting some sound clips? Please?? Did you feel an immediate power gain with both the HFC's and the cat back? How loud is it now? Is your set up louder or quieter than just a cat back from someone like Stillen, Ark, Fast Intentions, etc..? Do you have to shut the car off to talk at a drive thru window? Is your set up loud enough to annoy sleeping neighbors upon start up every morning? Any issues, annoyances, problems with your set up? How much weight do you think you cut from your G, by doing the exhaust upgrade?

all of mine were marked with a sticker. is your kit new or used like the photo you originally posted? if it's used, then the stickers probably are scraped off by then. best thing to do, is line it all up once you have the car on the lift. you can't mistake which pipe goes where really. then once you have it all layed out on the ground, you can begin to mount the driver side with no problems. once you get to the passenger side, you will notice the flex pipe can't bolt to the cat properly because the front differential is in the way, that's the one you want to flip. that's how i did it at least. i layed it all out on the ground, then matched up the pipes, aside from having a new system so it already had stickers marking which piece goes where.
