Transmission Fluid

I'm getting excited as each day passes and the shifts remain the same. I can tell the computer has adjusted and its in grandma mode (70% of my driving style) as when I take the exit for 95 I really have to step on it to make it scream. I felt a bit of hesitation in some moderate stop and go traffic yesterday on the way home but still much better than before.

Wow! I saw this coupon from dealership and thought too good to be true, but it's a real deal. I'm picking the brakes and trans service for the price...
Pick any 2 for $199.95
Pick 2 Valvoline services for only $199.95, normally $318.95 each
-Cooling system flush -Brake fluid flush
-Transmission service -Power steering flush
-Battery service -Induction system flush

Well guys in summary to this whole experience I can't recommend the trans fluid replacement as a fix for what I was looking for. Most of you probably fit into this category but that being said I would recommend it to those who:
A. Need it changed out as for a maintenance interval which seems to be around 60xxx to 80xxxx miles.
B. Those overkill folks like myself wanting to rid the transmission of break in particles and a slight increase in smoothing out the shifts.
The shifts being smoother overall is nice but still not a fix to the quirky ECU especially during spirited driving. This could also be due to driving like grandma 70% of the time and then asking it to go into teenage race mode. My next step from here is a few more air distribution upgrades then off to a tune at R/T tuning in hopes of getting the car to drive like I want. I've been eying up the motordyne intake manifold and some HFC's the rest will remain bone stock.

^ that's an amazing rate if they truly got all the fluid out and replaced it with just over 9qts of S-matic fluid. Considering that fluid is like $8 a quart wholesale.
Sounds more like a drain and fill procedure, where they replace just over 3 qts of fluid using a specific fill tube (bottom fed) in combination w/ a Consult III to make sure the transmission fluid is at 40C temp (determines proper level).
A 3x drain and fill is the recommended way of 'changing' your fluid (@ 60-75k miles), according to the factory service manual (for our g37 7AT and the same goes for 370z's-- hence why you can price shop Nissan dealers for this service). Even a 3x drain/fill procedure, you are mixing old with new, so you will still only have about 87-88% new fluid.
It's not a tough service to perform, just time consuming as you are supposed to ge tthe car off the lift, run it around a few miles and then go back and do another drain / fill.
You can opt to do a 1x drain/fill every 30-35k miles and that will suffice just as well if you want to break up the big cost of doing the 3x procedure down the line. Make sure to spell out your expectations and not let the service writer just say, oh yeah and transmission service is this much.. find out the particulars and what there quoted cost includes. It's pretty amazing as some Nissan dealers don't have that bottom fill tube/pump part-- so they couldn't even do this service. Others will insist it's sealed for life and there is no need for it to be serviced (yeah, real cool that the owners manuals misleads people like that..but hey, I've heard bmw states something similar like that). In any case, do your due diligence and make sure the dealer doing this service for you seems to have a clue.
'Flushing' is not recommended with our variety of transmissions. I believe that is even spelled out in the FSM.
