7at Redline before shifting
It seems that whether in D or DS that my 37xS will hit 7500 RPM without shifting if I go WOT. I don't let it go past and usually back off at which time it will shift up. I'm wondering if this is related to long (1 sec) shift times when manually shifting and if it will get better when I install a grounding kit. I need to really watch the tach and manually shift to ensure that I'm not over-revving which is annoying.
Is this common or do I need to get something checked out?

This is a programmed feature of the 7AT. If you are at WOT, the ECM reads the throttle position as being at the most aggressive level. This means it allows full advance and aggressive shift points until you release the throttle. A grounding kit will not help. Also, there's a rev limiter that kicks in even if you're manually shifting the G. So stop being annoyed and recognize how your car works.

Don't forget, the OEM tach is typically not very accurate. From what I've seen, they generally read too high, so when you see it hitting 7500 rpm, it most likely a few hundred less.
