Just ordered, thanks. I was going to order it a few days ago but it was still $179, and I opted to wait. Glad I did. Thanks again for the heads up.

Ordered myself! Didn't think another sale was coming till late fall, early winter. I'm elated to get theses discs. I'm still on the original software from 2012!

Thanks, forrmark. Ordered as well. Mine still had the 2011 version it had when it was unloaded from the truck. Didn't expect a sale price this early...

For anyone who has updated their nav maps on the 2010 and later G's, are there any other updates to the infotainment system besides just the maps? As in do other non-nav functions get any software updates?

No- the systems are a locked and sealed unit and cannot be given any other software updates.

NAV Updates

FWIW

I have factory Navigation in my 2012 G37S and the wife has a 2013 Altima with factory navigation
Both vehicles cannot find certain addresses.
However, we both have 7 year old Garmin Nuvi's purchased as black Friday specials on Amazon that find these addresses that our expensive factory navigation systems cannot.

You can now purchase a brand new Garmin with lifetime maps cheaper than upgrading factory navigation and a passenger can use them while driving to input information.
I like my factory navigation and would purchase it again on my next vehicle but I also like having a portable unit both for use in my vehicle and for use in a rental vehicle.

I don't think the NAV update will update the head unit OS/firmware.

There are updates available for that but they're limited to addressing specific issues and problems, not adding "features", from what I can tell. I inquired about this when I recently purchased my G37. The Consult system should advise the dealer if there are any required updates. Now... that being said, if you've not experienced an issue addressed by the update, I don't know if it's Infiniti's policy to update, just to be "current".

That last update I see is ITB12-054a.

For those of us with '09 G37 sedans that require dealerships to complete updates to our nav units, it's worth noting (as of 4/6/15) the fee for the 8.8 update program has dropped $50 to $99. Yeah, you'll still have to pay the dealership fee and tax on top of that, but it's still a useful discount.

Howdy had my 2010 since last Xmas with the 2010 maps and after 35 years of Xmas's we thought we would grab a map upgrade....but, and there's always gotta be at least one of 'em,lol it shows you the DVD's and a User Guide but try and find one of those
Infiniti Navigation System X9 DVD Year 2016 for U.S. and Canada

user guides on the net anywhere. Wouldn't happen to know of any links would you. I have read some discouraging reviews since buying it of course, hense why I was looking for a link and when you have to pay with our stinking Canadian Buck at 30 cents off the top. Happy New Year to you all.
