Car won't start
Hey guys, I have a 2010 G37 sedan and this morning car wouldnt start. All the lights are working. Used my wife's car to jump my car. I drove to work and when i got to work i figure let me try shutting down the car and starting it. Car wouldnt start. Before i bring it to the dealer I figured let me share my experience. any ideas on what can cause this. battery, alternator, etc...
Thanks

Its the Amps, not volts, that start the car. 12.5 volts is great, but if the car needs 600 CCA and the battery can only produce say, 400 because of a low, shorting or dying cell, the battery is on its way out. You can pop the covers off and check for a low water levels, but if its your OEM battery then its 5+ years old depending on your build date.
Swing it by a auto parts store and have them put a load tester on it regardless. Winters a-coming.
If you've never messed with a G37 battery, here is a good youtube:

My 2010 G37 was about 3 years old when I finally noticed it didn't have a maintenance free battery.
I had to put almost 2 cups of distilled water in it and figured the battery would not last much longer. That was at least a year and a half ago and it still works perfect.
It's possible by your removing the battery and hopefully cleaning the connections and re tightening them the battery problem will go away.
Please post when you find out what your problem was.

Optima has went to the crapper over the last few years.

Poor ground, corroded or loose cables, possible internal intermittent open or short?
If you still on the original battery it is time to replace it

I would normally agree with you.....but I did this & the Redtop shorted out my electrical system. Why I have no idea but the dealer wasn't covering it because it wasn't an Infiniti battery. Had to pay to fix it. Filed a claim with Optima & all they did was tell me to return the battery for a refund to where I bought it.

What is more likely is that the battery polarity was switched.
