Remote Starter - Price/Warranty

Hi all,

Just got off the phone with Infiniti 401/Dixie here in Toronto, Canada they are quoting me $875+tax for 2 Key Fobs to have the remote starter installed. I was also able to confirm that they are hiring a 3rd party to come in and complete this installation?!

If I get my own 3rd party installer to do this will it void my warranty?

Currently right now Car Remote Starter installation toronto, viper remote starter toronto, compustar remote starter toronto
can do this for $249 for 1 key fob.

P.S. I am driving 2012 G37xS Sedan

Thanks for the tips/suggestions.

Outrageous price. You can buy a Fortin or DBALL2 and use your OEM to start the car. Pressing lock 3x will start and stop the engine. Can be bought for less than $100 and simple install.

Any online sellers others can recommend to get the Fortin or dball kits complete and ready for our cars? Preferably any kits out there that have a 2 way remote option?

Im going to have to disagree. i got everything installed, harness and everything, flashed the Dball and got it to accept the programming and it still wouldnt start. i ended up taking the module out and just leaving all the wiring for later when i have more patience to deal with it. its not as easy as everyone makes it seem.

These dball and fortin units sound great, but I have a few questions. I want to be able to not only remote start from my oem key, but also be able to use a smart phone to do all of this, do they have that option? Also I read Viper alarm / remote start are able to integrate with OEM remote now, any reason why i would go with fortin or dball over viper?

Look up the DBALL2. I just swapped that module into my G in lieu of the DB-ALL and it has an optional data port.

This Data port will allow you to plug in a third party module (Viper, Clifford, Python, Directed, etc.) you could get a module that will allow you to start with a smart device.

I didn't look into the Viper system as the DB-ALL/DBALL2 is a super easy and clean install and can be had on a budget.
