Do they make blank fog light covers for g37?

Hey Guys,

I want to install some drls where my fog lights go. I plan on taking my fog lights out and just installing the drl strips. Do they make a blank honeycomb panels so I don't have the hole cut out for the fog lights? Kind of like the 09 and before air ducts on the bumpers. I have a 2013 journey sedan.

Thanks for the ideas.

These were the bmw x-5 DRls i was hoping to put on.

I dont understand nor see your point but why not just install DRL's to fit like the OEM do?

On the 2010+ Sedan, the question is really whether fog lights were optional on the Journey, or maybe the G25. I don't think they were. Or if they were, then the fog area probably just had a cap. But IDK really.

blnewt did a LED fog/running light mod on his 2009, with a round array of LED's which is pretty darn attractive. Maybe you could retrofit his mod into the honeycomb panel you already have?

Well, I'll take the fogs if you go that route.

AFAIK all 2010+ journey sedans did come with foglights including g25's.

Modern? I don't think so. Contemporary accent lighting has continuous illumination throughout, looking like a cathode tube.

For example, look how Audi has evolved:

That whole pearl-necklace design is already down-market, following the trajectory of all fads.

What a fine looking Nissan Sentra.

OP, my intent here is not to be snarky, but to present the POV that strips of individual LED lights are no longer the upscale design element they were when Audi first started playing that game. And in all honesty, I think blnewt's round array of lights looks unique and quite good.

On my 2013 bumper the fake honeycomb "panels" in the fog light pockets are not removable. They are part of the bumper mold and painted black. I intended to remove mine when I applied a spray bra, but no luck.

I'd have to look again/closer, but it seems like the fog lamp housing themselves are also part of the mold.

Hmm so they are non removable? I have not taken my bumper apart to check. I hoped they just popped out like the earlier models.

They're removable on the Sport bumper, so...

Both the fog rings and black panel are separate pieces. Can't imagine why the non-sport bumper would be any different.

Tried to get a decent picture, but did confirm that the black fog panels on a 2013 G37 non-sport bumper are integrated with the front cover itself.

You can see the paint line between the red & black.

Surely you can appreciate the relativity of the word modern. Adopting a broader perspective makes it clear what he meant, in that LED lighting on cars is a much more recent trend relative to foglights.

Moreover, mimicking the lighting of a late model Audi would not suit the aesthetics of a Nissan that dates back to 2006/7.

My recommendation is that OP approaches this upgrade with a "period-appropriate" sense, which would likely be to replicate the LED DRL of the GTR, Sentra, etc so that it fits in with the rest of the car. It definitely has the potential of looking great

Just a thought..
