My pending face lift.....
2009 G37X Sedan (non) Sport with factory 17's (for now)
Shift springs (may paint them black before install)
KYB struts and shocks (stock replacements)
H&R 15 MM spacers (DRM)
Since it's not my daily driver anymore so I thought I would give it a little
love and a little face lift. I'm not looking to have it slammed to the ground
nor do I want it to look like a race car, just a more aggressive look and
perhaps some better handling.
Is there anything I should be aware of before I pull the trigger?

It may handle a little better with the springs but I would suggest installing a set of sway bars while you're under there. All I really noticed after installing the Swifts on mine was the slight drop but that could be me.
Check your KYBs closely after install and make sure the bump stops are reinstalled.

Rex .. thanks for the heads up about the bump stops. You mentioned sway bars.
What set up are you on? Hotchkis 22443? If so have you found any down falls?

I haven't found any downfalls at all other than the need to keep them lubed. They were creaking a bit but that was easily solved. I kept them neutral at first then went more aggressive when the Swifts were installed.

REX.....how much more stiff are the Hotchkis @ neutral over the stock bars? Should I guess you have the 22443 bar? Did you reuse the stock links or were those replaced
as well?
as well?

There are specs right here on Hotchkis' website: Hotchkis Sport Suspension
However, Hotchkis is under the impression that the RWD-Sport Sedan has stiffer sway bars than the RWD-Journey. That doesn't actually seem to be the case, and doesn't apply to you because AWD. But whatever, man... Aftermarket sways > OEM, period. Brand is pretty much irrelevant on a DD.
Reuse the OEM end-links, or don't... it doesn't matter unless you lower the car's ride height. At which point the life expectancy of those end-links will probably be reduced. If you're lowering the car, I'd recommend you put on the sways this year, and replace the end-links in another year or two.
It's "Swift", not "Shift". No real point in painting them, IMO, since the springs aren't readily seen, particularly after the drop.

You want Part #4N907 for your AWD Sedan.

Rochester...sorry about the "typo" on the Swift. I have every thing ready to go besides the bar. I did get a new set of links form work just in case they to not come off the
stock strut. I guess I should just have them installed whether or not I install the new
sway bar.
I'm still up in the air about painting the springs. I have a body shop customer willing to prep and paint @ no charge as long as I supply the paint. I do paint them I will mix to match the stock body color (black)
I more concerned about the stance with the springs and the 15 MM spacers with the stock 17's.

I know. I'm just being a wiseazz.
With OEM wheels, spacers are a must-have when lowering the car, otherwise it will look even less right than it does now because the tops of the rims will pull even further into the wheel-well with the drop. However, IMO those 17" non-sport rims will always look like pooh, no matter what you do. Sorry.
If you want to paint something, paint these 15mm spacers black, and your non-Sport calipers too.

3 wide splits each on a 5-spoke rim, with 15 narrow spokes overall. Interesting. Total b1tch to clean and wax, too.

Unfortunately the OEM 17s aren't all that nice. Not knocking you, I ran them until I couldn't any longer due to the BBK. Then I ran sport sedan wheels from a G35, I liked those wheels much more over the OEMs, oddly I didn't think I wanted spacers until I saw it flushed out then I liked it.
I'm an X sedan so I'm running the same ones you would be and am currently running the OEM end links. I just lowered the car on Swifts a couple months ago so I'll likely swap out the end links next summer or earlier if I go coils prior to that.
As far as how much stiffer... The specs are there but the change is fairly dramatic especially when running summer tires. Interesting thought about painting them, I hadn't considered that. Of course my paint is awful so that may have something to do with it.

Tomorrow is the day...will take some before and after photos.
I would take some during photos but I'm sure there plenty on the forum
and I am having one of the best garages in the area do the job.
