High Flow Cats
Just need some reassurance
Plannin on picking up some FI HFC but i can either shell out the extra money and wait for the RHFC or i can pick up a slightly used non resonated HFC right now.
this will be paired with an ARK catback which i think i ve gotten used to so its not as loud as i want it to be lol
So my question to you is:
Do you think the RHFC are worth the extra money and time? or should i just go with the non-resonated ones for about $450

sounds good appreciate all the inputs. I don't mind it being "loud" I just don't want rasp and I know FI always makes some quality stuff.
Just want to make sure I m not going on an impulse buy for HFC maybe its better to wait and spend the extra coin on some RHFC

I bought the resonated cats because after consuming a few years of anecdotal evidence, I came to the conclusion that the non-resonated cats run a higher risk of a raspy exhaust when mated to an aftermarket catback. Right or wrong, that's the opinion I established, and the reason I went with FI RHFC. I'll see how well that plan works next year, when I install a catback. (knock on wood) BTW, I'm also planning on the ARK Grip.
You know, the FI cats have a 300 cell count, compared to the typical 200 cell count of most other brands, so that might come into play, too.
If I were in your position, I'd get the non-resonated cats, because you can do that now, and save over $200. Otherwise, you're shelling out more money for the privilege of waiting 2 months... which leads us right into Winter. (Assuming you live where winter matters.)

I will go the other way and say no, I have Z1 HFC's $400 Shipped, I love the sound and I'm not a LOUD guy. And having the FI RHFC's before the tone and sound level is very close to the same, I NEED to get a vid of the Z1's so I can compare it to the vid of The FI ones I did earlier this year. But I don't think the extra is warranted.

awesome I really appreciate the input.
So I spoke with Lance and I found out that because I have an ARK exhaust which has 2.5" piping it would be better off trying to find HFC that match that piping which would be what the coupe uses and since all the Cats are interchangeable I will probably be looking to find some coupe ones. He also said that since ARK is one of the louder exhausts the resonators would be a good idea.

Alfredo24pr has an ARK Grip cat-back mated to a FI RHFC on a G37S Sedan 7AT. I don't recall reading anything about 2.25" to 2.5" fitment considerations.
I liked reading that. Cool.

So I suppose everything is relative when it comes to opinions like this.
