JDM sedan tail lights

I emailed them yesterday, they have them in stock. I am still debating on if I should or not. On a side note I just noticed that the EU spec car above appears to have power folding mirrors and being that it is left hand drive, the window switch piece would be a direct swap to our cars.

I've been reading a few of those threads. Doesn't look like the verts fit the sedans. From what I saw it looks a module would be needed to auto fold but... Completely cool for certain.

I've a friend who installed power folding mirrors on his 2003 G35 Sedan. It's silly, and pointless, and expensive... and completely cool. Can't help myself, man. It's just cool watching those things fold in when you lock the car, then fold back out when you unlock it.
It's the little things.

I'd LOVE to have these tail lights, the folding mirrors, etc…but then you weigh out mod per mod, and look at whats healthier for your wallet.
You walk away sniffing, but I feel money is better spent on more important things

Yeah I've decided to pass on the tail lights. For the same price I'm able to get swift springs, license plate led's and hoen yellow fog bulbs and still have $20 to go out for drinks after installing them. The power folding mirrors I'd actually like to have because I parallel park a lot and it can be a hassle to manually fold and unfold.

There were two sedans with JDM tails at last weekend's meet-up. It was my first opportunity to see them in person. After careful consideration, I decided I liked them better than otherwise. So my comfort point-of-entry just went up to whatever they are at today... $250 on a good deal, I suppose.
The other thing I noticed, and is backed up here in this thread with pics, is that the red plastic in the JDM lenses is slightly less intense than the standard lenses. I like that, too. Very much, and particularly against Moonlight White, so as to be less contrast-y.
However (always a however ), that difference in red plastic becomes pretty obvious in comparison to the back-up lenses in the trunk lid. So what's up with that? Is this just the way of it in Japan, or are there JDM backup lenses, too?
Here, you can see what I'm talking about in this old pic from terrycs:

This is quite a nice visual mod and a good plus to the JDM crowd but since I have tail-as-turns from Diode Dynamics I can't justify using these as no-functional pieces, haha! I just love the LED look too much.
One thing I noticed from looking at my dad's 08 GS350 (which is pretty much direct competition to our sedans) is that Nissan really likes to differentiate their models and markets right from the start of the design process. By that I mean a Canadian G will have DRL's, and a USDM one wont. For the Lexus they're all the same. Same thing with the AWD models, my dad's RWD Lexus has a snow button, even though it doesn't do anything. The RWD G's don't have that. I suspect this is why something simple like the tail lights are different across markets.

That's 1st Gen G35. But good point about trolling ebay.
Also not looking for an immediate thing, rather a visual mod that I can plan for 2016.

Has anyone tried changing the stock halogen bulb to an amber LED bulb (with resistors to prevent hyperblinking) to get a similar look? If so, can you please post pictures? Since the lens is red, I'm not sure how the amber LED bulb will look through it. I can't tell if the lens for the JDM tails are clear around the turn signal or not. You can clearly see the turn signal is amber when not lit, so I'm thinking the lens is either clear or amber. Can someone verify?
