Cleaned throttle body and Stillen Gen 3 intakes filter. I was surprised that there was a noticeable difference. I did not even disconnect the battey so there was no ecu reset.

I have a real rough idle (vibrating) when in D and R. Thought it may be the FI HFCs.. God knows. Anyways I cleaned the TB which were dirty but nothing improved. I Did disconnect the cable though. Is this why I saw no improvement, do I have to reset the idle air or relearn idle air volume before I see any changes? Can I do it or am I bound for the dealership. Thanks!

Perhaps that is the "generic" the dealer used?

Yeah there's a DIY guide on the forums. I used Valvoline TB cleaner from the local auto parts store.

Do you guys use any fuel additives available? Do you think in doing so that may help keep the TB cleaner to start with?

I'm new and have only had my 11 G37X a few weeks. It has slightly over 20k on it so I'm not sure if I am experiencing the conditions described here or not.

Also, do any y'all use octane booster in your tank? Highest octane I have seen on the North Shore of the Boston area has been 93, not like the good ol' days when Sunoco had 107 and even some 116.

My 2010 G37S (7AT) just past 60k. As many posts here attest, the owner's manual is very vague when to change the fluid (120k, or don't touch...?). I was advised by my independent Infiniti mechanic that a drain and fill will do... As flushing may cause tiny metal shaving to be trapped inside fine moving parts.. Man, I'm confused..

Called local dealer here in San Diego and they quoted me $250 (with coupon). Claim 12 quarts + 1 quart of cleaner will be needed.

Have you noticed any difference since your flush?

I wouldn't worry about it. My 1996 Maxima didn't have a tranny flush for over 200k miles and it's still going strong.

I'm from the camp that doesn't believe you should ever really have to do a tranny flush if the tranny is working properly.

Cleaned my MAF sensors yesterday. One looked dirty BTW.

The only noticeable effect is that it felt like the car had a little more pull in higher RPMs instead of falling so flat like it used to.

These days I'm actually pretty happy with shifting performance. Especially in DS mode. Very quick shifts.

Hey Jazzmang. Glad to hear your shifts are still better. I cleaned my throttle bodies last weekend using your advice. My idle is much better and shifts seem alittle less sluggish. Any special tricks on cleaning the mass airflow sensors? I think this is next on my maintenance. Thanks again for your help.

Yeah, it's super easy.

Use pliers to release the electrical connectors from the MAF sensors.
Remove both sensors.
In an open area, shoot 10-15 short sprays of MAF cleaner onto and into the canister.
Allow it to fully dry (10 minutes), then simply reinstall.

Anyone have a link to the DYI for cleaning the throttle bodies? I'll look for it now, just surprised I haven't seen it here yet.
