Just got a set of VOSSEN CVT yesterday. Still going to be a few weeks before winter ends and swap them on the car. The question on topic here is lug nuts. Which ones to buy?
Since Need4Speed offered a simple $10 set of chrome-plated steel lug nuts in the package, I got it anyway, in case it takes me too long to figure out what to use long-term. They're quite small, and narrow, with a spline-socket configuration. And they have a little closed, button-cap end to them.
All in all, they're not bad looking. But they're not special, either. And there are not locking nuts. Granted, the spline socket is a bit of a deterrent from theft, but not exactly a locking mechanism.
Awesome! I previously had the more expensive Kics R40 extended/open-ended lugs but I now have Muteki lugs that I got for $70. For the $$$ Muteki are great and just as nice.
Just to start off, these are the lug nuts I've been leaning towards. They're made by WORK, and have an anodized bronze metallic surface. They come as a pack of 16 plus 4 lock-nuts, for about $140.
WORK makes a good quality product (which is just an interwebz opinion, I really don't know that for a fact.) The little "W" on the end isn't overly obtrusive, the way RAYS lug nuts are. And the color is very interesting... not too flashy, but just different enough to be a little bit noticeable. Particularly on a Moonlight White G37 with a Stone Leather interior.

One thing I've decided on is that I want closed-end nuts. I went back and forth on this for a while, and settled comfortably there.
For a while I was seriously thinking about VOLK Racing. But they're way too bling-y, way too expensive, and there are lots of complaints about their quality. Still, they have a fascinating design, even though I don't want them anymore, and they really would look awesome in Black.
So, these would work for me right?

These Titek nuts are quite appealing, but like I said on top, I'm not interested in the open-ended lug nuts. Notice how in just about every single photo you find about open-ended lug-nuts, you never see a straight-on perspective. I suspect it's because looking at the face of the lug behind some inner threads just isn't as appealing as you would think.
For simplicity and build quality, seems that McGard makes a good lug nut.
Here's their chrome spline-drive lug nut, at a 1.25" length... which is kind of appealing considering how deep these holes are. No, wait, that's how long my cheapie lug nuts are. Hmm.
Also, not a kit... you'd have to buy four sets, a spline socket, and a lock-set.
[edit] my mistake, you can buy these as a kit, 16+4, for about $75 on Amazon.
RAYS has a medium length, closed-end lug nut at 42mm long, which is slightly longer than the typical 1.25" nut. It has a different finish than the WORK, but they still call it Bronze.
Damned expensive, though, at $185+. And there's no lock. No wait, I take that back. They include 4 seven-sided nuts.
