Many of you may remember that I got involved in a hit and run a while back. I followed the guy and he got arrested. Anyways, Geico is paying for all the damages, which is sick!
There is some light cracking in the paint on my rear bumper, but no real structural damage.
Any tips for them getting them to repaint/replace the bumper? Let me know what you guys think. Any tips appreciated at all, i have never been through an insurance claim on someone else's insurance. Thanks!

I'm sitting in the lobby at my INFINITI dealership, right now (iPad). They just passed the car for NYS inspection, which is something that's recorded for the state on video now, if you can believe that. Anyway, for the aftermarket cats, the tech points at them and says "this car has catalytic converters", and that's good enough.
It's currently against the law for a shop to install non-OEM cats, but for inspection all that's required is confirmation that cats exist, without specification that they're OEM. I wouldn't be surprised to see that loophole closed someday.
Man, it's getting tough to mod cars legally.

I hear yea Jon but how'd they check? They actually put the car on a lift or use a mirror?
I have yet to see anyone on MA actually look under the car? I just got mine last week also.

Last year, before I had the cats installed, I told the Technician what I was planning on, and he assured me I'd be OK, but that I should ask for him personally to process the NYS inspection just to be sure. Which I did, and I have a new sticker now.
We also talked about how if I take it to just about any small shop, they wouldn't think twice about the non-OEM cats other than to observe they were there, and wouldn't make a fuss about it. But I took it to the dealership this year, for their free 100-point inspection. And while I understand that's just Service Bait, the tech I asked for has been working at Infiniti for over 20 years, and he's a good guy.
