So, after chatting a bit on a thread about DS mode with the 7AT, I decided to try it out. I've only used the DS mode like 4 times since I purchased my G and all those times were before the mods and the tune.... I have to say..... HOLY **** It's like a switch has been flipped while driving in DS. The car just goes and goes now. I'm sorta at a loss of words to describe it. No transmission lag, stays in just the right gear while accelerating, it's like a different animal now. Even my wife can feel the difference which is really saying something. This is not exagerated, it feels totally different.

Blnewt: You were right, Bud. The gas needle moves like there is no tomorrow while in DS. LOL

Nice^^^ I use DS in town almost always, D on long drives, and M on fun roads or long hills, or when I want to feel youthful

I'll be in DS mode from now on. Why even put just plain old D in the mix? Great advice on using DS, I appreciate it.

Was wondering if anyone can help me out with an oil leak that i have coming from the area that the oil filter attaches to. My brother drove my car while i was out of the country and hit the concrete slab in a parking area of rite aid and tore the under shield and possibly hit the oil filter. The oil leaks a few drops (3-4) while the car is being started. I lifted the car and tried see what i can do but i couldn't really figure out what to do. It is right behind where the oil filter is screwed into. I attached some pictures if someone had anything similar to this and any advice is appreciated.

Tracing down oil leaks can be difficult, especially when everything is dirty and greasy from the leaking oil blowing back as you drive. You might try spraying it off good in a car wash and then starting it a few times. It looks like it's leaking where the steel filter adapter meets the flange on the aluminum casting but really hard to tell. You probably need to disassemble that joint and try to see if the steel part is deformed at the sealing joint, or if there is other damage present when you open it up. There are no obvious curb scrapes that I can see in the pictures, but the underpan could have prevented that while still allowing distortion of the steel adapter.

The general rule is - with hard impacts, steel bends and distorts, cast aluminum is much less ductile and usually cracks or breaks.

Just don't use it all the time, The DS will start to drive like D, If you use it all the time, Remember out DAMN cars learn how you drive. I just use manual all the time ( Paddles)

Hey Chris, I've been talking to Lance about the FI CBE... looks like that's the route I'm going to go.

Did you rule out BORLA? Give them a call, and find out of their 2007-2008 G35 RWD Sedan Exhaust matches up to our RWD G37.

I have not looked at Borla. I would think that it would fit since the Fast Intentions CBE works on sedans 2007+, but I don't know for sure. I like the sound that Chris and Connor had with their FI CBE and the look/size of the tail pipe. I like the Ark CBE, just like you do, but it may be a little loud and I don't want to have to cut the tip off and weld another one on, I'd rather just not have to worry about that.
