Just did this change last weekend. I unbolted the forward hanger and slipped the stock muffler forward out if the rear hanger. No issue. No ramps used either.

Crap...bad news. Just got a call from the vendor saying that the Tanabe is on backorder till mid-December and they will refund my money. I called Tanabe and they confirmed the backorder.

Also try Lou @ Amplified Motorsports. They are a vendor sponsor on here and he typically keeps a couple of these in stock. Worth a shot.

Most just go w/ the OEM piping, if you're going to the expense of a new mid & Y then a full catback would be a better plan, you'd have a true dual exhaust w/ factory matched tubing/resonators, etc.

I'm currently using a Tanabe Y-Pipe/crossover pipe along with the stock resonators and a Tanabe axle back on my G sedan and am very happy with the set up. I also have the stock CATs installed... This is by far my favorite exhaust set-up on this car so far.

I've also had a full FI setup and also at one time I had BERK HFC's along with an Invidia Gemini crossover pipe & resonator section/mid-pipe. This was mated to my Tanabe axle back with some custom piping, but slight drone at 2500 - 3000 RPM's started to get to me, so I went back to the stock CAT's and stock resonators along with the Tanabe Y-Pipe and no more drone!

Any chance for a quick video of your tanabe mufflers along with the tanabe Y pipe? I would really like to hear your setup from the interior. There are plenty of interior videos of just the tanabe mufflers, but I didn't see any with the Y pipe and mufflers with stock CATs on the sedan. I would appreciate it...

Yeah, definitely. I believe I already posted up some clips over on G35Driver a few years back, but if I get a chance I'll see if I can take some new videos sometime this weekend. However, keep in mind that my car has a GTM Supercharger, so that may vary the sound slightly... in particular, you may hear some of the SC whine in the videos.
