Don't get me wrong, I liked the initial change too. And even though I found the pedal effort increase a bit more than "very slight" I thought I could live with it.
Fast forward a couple of months later and due to construction in my area I was driving in stop and go traffic for long periods of time. It got tiring quick.
I put it back to stock out of frustration but I was pleasantly surprise to see that I was able to drive it smoother now than before with the spring in.

I think it boils down to what you were used to driving before. If you're used to driving a car with a light clutch, adapting to the stock setup on the g/z is much easier. If your last car had a heavier clutch, the transition is tough.

I almost put the pedal through the floor the first few times when test driving. Even after my car arrived, I was still unsure of the engagement point. After reading about removing the assist spring, I tried it, and was in heaven. The feel was very similar to my last car now. The only problem was the extra slop/play in the pedal when at the top. Installing the weaker spring solved that. It's been that way for over 4 months now.

A friend who's interested in a G 6mt asked me to go with to test drive several cars last week. When I drove the car around the area, again I had issues feeling the engagement point. It felt just like my car did before the mod. This was a 2010 coupe. Granted, mine is a sedan, but I do believe the driveline is practically identical between the two. Ymmv

Weaker spring? I need to study this mod more, but... you didn't just take out the pedal spring, you replaced it with something else?

Can you describe the issue with our clutch? Mine feels fine? What is the issue I should be experiencing?

@Rochester, the day I brought the car home (brand new car), I tried springless. It was great, but the slop at the top bothered me.

@Zack342, if you're happy with the clutch, then leave it as is.

@Jsolo - From you post I got worried it was a safety thing. Clutch seems fine. I drive this and 6mt 2003 Maxima back to back and they feel about the same.

What? No, there's no comparison. I drove my 2003 Maxima 6MT for almost 10 years, and the clutch is stupidly soft. Almost non-existent compared to the G.

'12 Black on black 6MT, tint, Anniv. 18" 9-Spoke wheels; Nova Scotia

Got mine this spring, came in from Quebec. Dealer said there were only three 6MT sedans available in Canada.

They're still good enough for a wet day after 10K? That's about all I'm hoping for, after that it's back to reality with somewhat affordable rubber.
