Only the Stone interior is under $300... the Graphite is much more expensive.

I see now why it costs so much... it's the damn trim that's a pain in the rear end to find

I've investigated and I do see I have wires to use paddles, what I don't see is a steering column trim piece that supports both power steering wheel AND paddles.

is adding paddles possible on a steering wheel that has the power lift/tilt feature?

Yep, I did it. The kit comes with the paddles and the trim pieces you'll need. I think it comes with the additional nut(s) and screws as well. I know mine did.

Is there a reason why graphite is so much more expensive? Can you show pic of the two so I can make sure which one I want to purchase.

My car has a black interior. That means I want graphite right?

I just traded in my 335i and got the g37. 335i is great but unrefined and unreliable. Like the g37 so far but miss my paddles SO BADLY. I think if I can get paddles back I can finally feel 100% confident I love this car more.

I'll have a set of graphite paddles soon. I can hook you up with a deal.

It's pretty difficult to determine. My suggestion would be to contact InfinitiPartsUSA or DiscountInfinitiParts.

They helped me a lot with my paddle upgrade.

I have sold dozens of kits and can't find a part# for mechanical tilt sport trim and I'm quite familiar with using the FAST system.
