Don't forget that when paddling in D mode, you can pull and hold the right paddle for one second and it'll return to D mode. I love that feature.

Picked up my '09 G37x Sedan two weeks ago, and threw the paddles on today. I've read hundreds of posts on here, but wanted to wait on posting until I took something apart, at least.
Install was no sweat -- did it in dim light in a parking lot with two hand tools. In and out before my wife could finish watching "Mulan".
Perhaps they're something of a novelty. All I know is that they make this incredibly fun car a little more fun, and there can be no harm in that.

Wiring Paddle Shifter when NOT WIRED
I have a 2009 g37x and would like to install paddle shifters. I do not have the nav package so it does not come prewired for them. Is there anyway to get the wiring and if so could someone post a how to for wiring install. Sorry if this is posted in wrong section. thanks for your time

Sure, if you want to try to run a set of wires from either the gear shift control in the center console or the TCM up through the steering column you should be able to add paddle shifters to a G that is not prewired.
Unless you can buy a set of terminal connectors that match the plugins on the paddle shifters, you'll have to hard wire (direct solder connect) the wires to the shifters.
You might also have to drill and tap the steering column if the mounting holes for the paddle shifters are not there too.
I doubt there is anyone who has done this because it would be rather difficult and a lot of work, and IMO, just not worth all the time and effort.

If your '10 G37 vert is not pre-wired you're going to have a tough job ahead of you! You will need to locate connector M66 on the Unified meter and A/C amp (which is "1A" on the first diagram).
On connector M66 there will be a beige wire (pin #6) which you will connect to your shift up (+) paddle. The green wire (pin #26) will connect to your shift down (-) paddle. You will also need to run a third (ground) wire to each of the paddle shifters (see the other 2 diagrams).
The hard part is going to be running these wires up through the steering column, and I have no idea how to do that.

I would remove the foam carefully and look for the white plastic connectors. You can always tape the foam back in place.
