Also, I read most of the comments here so I know that the ITB10-075A is one of the earliest correction was made by infinite and there is a newer one IT12-027D. The reason why I'm saying that is After the update, the harsh downshifting still exists and couple of days ago and noticed harsh up shifting as well (it is like the car shakes a little when up shifts) which is so annoying. I really don't know what to do I love the car but the transsmion keeps freakin me out what I need to know is does applying ITB10-075A means that the newer ones doesn't apply to my car or should try another dealer?
I would try someone else or go back and let them know you're still having issues. This may not have anything to do with the TSB, and could be an actual transmission issue and not just a software caused problem.

I'm new to the forum as I just bought a used 2012 G37. First thing I noticed was the diesel like sound at start up when the engine was cold. Panicked a lit bit but quickly found this forum and was relieved at the fact that the sound is normal.

Week later panicked because of the hesitation. Breaking at the stop sign than quickly back on the gas and nothing, rpm jumps but the car doesn't move than it's like I neutral drooped it, banging sound, tires squeal the car jumps. Than noticed the same thing going around 25 after breaking to slow back on the gas, car does nothing the same thing happens, tires squeal at 25, like I neutral dropped it at 25 mph. Been able to replicate the problem whenever i want.

Took me 2 days but I just about read though this whole thread so I am familiar with the problems 09-11 year cars have been having. Heaven't read much about the 2012 besides the fact a lot of people think the later models have fixed the issues, that hasn't been my experience. So my question; is there any fix for the later model year cars, will there be in the future, anything else I can do?

The ITB12-027 is good for 09-12 models. not sure about anything newer.

The ITB12-027 says it is for:

APPLIED VEHICLES:
2009 – 2011 G37 Sedan and Coupe (V36/CV36)
2009 – 2012 Convertible (HV36)

My car is a 2012 sedan, looks like only 2012 convertibles apply.

I would still take it in for that issue. Just because they haven't identified it in the bulletin doesn't mean it wouldn't apply. It's all the same hardware here, and it sounds like the exact issue. I'd start with a software solution (service bulletin) before moving forward with anything else.

Very True
Toyota applied a TSB to a Sienna I owned even though it didn't officially apply. The replacement part resolved the issue 100% and never came back in the ~150K miles driven afterwards. (Was an intermittent steering clunk)

I had huge lag problem when i let off gas then hit the gas again it wouldn't down shift. Also when in DS mode it would get stuck in 4th or 5th gear and wouldn't shift up or down. So all thats gone and my G is sporty again !!

Sometimes they will do it for free. Or they charge $140 hr. And this update should take less than an hour to do.

I just want to add that I had mine done at Infiniti of Escondido (California). I previously had problems in DS mode when coasting to a stop or after initial acceleration and then letting go of the gas or braking, it wasn't a rev matching issue it just felt like it held the gear awkwardly. ITB12-027d

2009 G37S 7AT

ECM
Before 23710 - 1ND6A
After 23710 - 3WR7A

TCM
Before 31039 - 1XJ4E
After 31039 - X766C

It Didn't Take

Should it require a reset after such an update? I just had my 2011 G37S Coupe updated as per Bulletin ITB12-027D:

ECU from 23710-1VU2B to 23710-3WP6A
TCU from 31039-X359C to 31039-X458C

It seems better- but still clunky at low speeds. I assumed resetting the control box would be part of the software update process.

UPDATE: just read the TSB and resetting the TCM is part of the procedure.
